Base pay for congress critters is $174,000/year (that’s $14,500/month). They get additional money for committees. President pro tempore and senate and house majority and minority leaders get $193,000. Speaker of the House gets $223,000.
This doesn’t include health benefits and perks.
Not a lot, but if they budget carefully I don’t imagine they’ll starve or go homeless.
@hanna maria My aunt had Covid but died last month from other complications after being on a ventilator for a month. Three weeks later her daughter has been hospitalized with Covid and it’s not looking good for her either because she has other medical issues. So yes people have IT but most die from the complications after being on ventilation system for long periods of time. Their bodies start shutting down. Personally the ventilator is the killer not Covid!

Isn’t it obvious? The answer why Donald is letting the pandemic destroy the country? It came out of the senator’s mouth: “The meltdown in Black and Latino businesses is unprecedented.”
The virus kills people of all nationalities and races. It does not see color. It kills more people with underlying illnesses (heart trouble, cancer, diabetes, COPD, immune diseases, etc). But no one is safe from it. It is infecting toddlers in large numbers and no one knows what long term damage it is doing to them.
