    1. @paradoxmo but in a tie the president of the Senate would break a tie. The VP role is filled by the Chief Justice in the case of an impeachment. In theory he is empowered with the same authority in that role. Following Jackson’s impeachment would allow him to do that bc technically the “legal precedent” was set. This is just my opinion.

    2. @Najee Tiller – @”Technically in an Impeachment trial Roberts has the authority under the Constitution to break any 50-50 tie vote if it happens but based on what we know of Roberts he’ll definitely decline to vote.” – I hate it when people say ‘technically’ and then proceed to say something nontechnical. The Constitution makes no mention of Roberts ability to break ties during an impeachment trial. There is, in fact, no legal precedent to determine if he has that authority. However, I agree with you, he will likely decline to vote in a 50-50 tie, which would make the vote fail.

    3. @mr white – @”He has A LOT OF SAY. He is the tie breaking vote in any vote.” – That is not true. There is nothing in the Constitution that declares Roberts the tie-breaker. In all reality, if he were to try to break a tie, the Republican senate would probably challenge his authority in the courts, and this wouldn’t get settled for 3 years.

@”It is likely that when the vote comes up for witness, it will be 50/50, and HE will be the deciding vote.” – That’s also not true. It’s likely that if it comes up 50/50, he’ll choose not to vote, which will automatically mean the vote fails (Republicans win).

@”Moreover, HE gets to decide what witness are relevant! ” – Wow, 3 for 3. This is ALSO not true. The Senate voted that he does NOT get to vote on which witnesses are relevant, and that resolution passed.

Please learn your facts before you start spouting non-truths. Ironic that you called Warren dumb, and then proceeded to say 3 dumb things.

    1. @Rhonda Goodrum In what way is Justice Roberts acting like this isn’t a trial? I’m well aware that a Senate impeachment trial isn’t anything like traffic court or an episode of Law&Order. I’m not sure if you are, especially if you think Fauxcahontas salary is relevant.

    2. Mark Dice can you tell me why you want to have trump as a president? Also, are you against socialism? I will assume yes. However, you have no problem calling someone king. You do know what a monarchy is correct?

    3. Makes a lot of sense to tug Supermanโ€™s cape, Warren. If I were the judge I would have said โ€œCould he worse. Itโ€™s it like I falsely claimed to have Indian heritage to get a job as a college professor thus taking the job from a real minority.โ€

    1. @Randy Couch Im Republican not Trumplican.Im tired of the NONSTOP BS coming out of the white house.Makes me sick!!!!

    2. Andria Bell – death is an ugly process for any entity. They fight and scrap for dear life, no matter the consequences. That happens just before the end.

    1. @frank enstein the job of the house is to bring the entire case to the Senate, the Senates job is to decide the case in front of them.

    2. @Kristin Kimberly I’ll tell you that the unemployment drop for blue states vs red is only double with blue because red states have been employed. Lmao

    3. @Hollowhammer doesn’t matter now , Schiff just caught Trumps defense in a big one , they admitted by mistake , that Gulliani was not there for foreign policy , he was there to serve his master Donnie and throw and election . wow . Amazing , Donnie’s own lawyers just sand his ship hahahahahahaha

    1. The poor and middle class cannot be tried twice for the same crime? The poor and the middle class are allowed an attorney and if they cannot afford it one will be provided for them. The poor and the middle class cannot if have their homes or personnel records searched because someone else says they think they are a criminal. Anyone that is shocked or appalled by any of this just doesn’t know their political history.

    1. Well we live in a republic and you fucking assholes are all losers lol. You wouldโ€™ve surrendered to the British if you were alive then.

    2. Wheezy Iโ€™m afraid it died on the day Barack Obama was elected. Truth be told, Iโ€™m not sure Obama had intended it to happen…..but those he put in power certainly did and he gave them free rein.

    3. The day the republican senators dont uphold their oaths and remove trump. That will be the day Democracy Dies and we elect a king. They’re scared they will loose their heads to be put on a pike by King Donald the first.

    4. Team Colby is the way to go, I applaud your glorious rebuttal. Please, reward yourself by angrily commenting on more CNN videos.

Truth be told, considering how the predominant argument among the left – and of your own – is in regard to Russia, I have no doubt that the left itself is just Russia conspiring to cause chaos in America.

Democracy hasnโ€™t died in America, because America was never a democracy. Weโ€™re a constitutional republic, and undermining the electoral college – and the Founding Fathers – is undermining the concept itself.

If you are so intensely incapable of dealing with the spirit of America, I urge you to move to Iran and complain about how bad Americans have it.

  1. Bipartisan, one finger in oneโ€™s own ear and another finger in the oppositionโ€™s eye, blind guides!

  2. Roberts didn’t like that question, Warren is right to ask but he is not judging the trial because he follows the constitution. I bet he’s super disgusted at what he is witnessing from the GOP!

    1. @beaver mcbeaver That’s not true, actually. Any rulings from Roberts would go to a Senate vote to be upheld or not. This is a Senate hearing, not a Supreme Court case. But, I agree Roberts *should* be making rulings he believes support the Constitution & a fair trial.

    2. The Judge looks like a smart man..He knows what the Republicans are doing! He knows as everyone else knows, that Trump is guilty!! I thi k hes pissed that all this crap from the GOP is doing a lot of damage and the world is going to remember his face attached to it as well. It’s all a disgrace for Americas Democracy!

    3. Not really, I think he’s probably more impressed with the way they spin things. He’s a conservative no doubt voted for Trump

    4. @GG I think you’re selling him short, personally.. His Constitutional influence is profound, should he choose to defend his obligations. If he stays silent, you would be completely correct, imo. I guess we’ll have to wait & see.

  3. I love the look on judge Robert’s face after reading president to be Warren’s question. I have to play it again and again.

    1. Hahahahahahahaha…..hahaha..haha. You have got to be kidding. Warren as president. That’s a good one

    2. @kelvin kyei If I’m not mistaken Warren is questioning the legitimacy and one might say the integrity of the Chief Justice of The Supreme Court to preside over this impeachment debacle. From the look on Chief Justice Roberts face she might well slapped him upside the head. He looks insulted to say the least. Is that about what you get..?

    3. @kelvin kyei And Youtube recommended this bullshit to me. I don’t typically view The Clinton News Network…CNN. Yes..that’s right..I’m a Deplorable. (And wealthy)

    4. @Jerry Guerra Yahuwah bless bless Thanks for your service im 1st gulf war vet as well I wish you much Shalom this new Year and dรฉcade

    1. @Bubbles McGee why do you guys always project yourselves onto others. I never understood that.

  4. Yes, you’re right on that, the rest of the world is watching… And, sadly, History is watching ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ˜ท

    1. @Mighty Me Obama had a 38% approval rating in 2014. the economy had barley started to turn around, after taking the LONGEST EVER TO RECOVER after a recession, by the end of Obamas turn. When Trump came into office, directly relating to his policies, our economy almost immediately skyrocketed. How can you give this economy credit to Obama when his entire 8 years had barley barley barley started to turn it around, again, taking LONGER than any other recession in history.

    2. @SkinnySkinch ๐Ÿ‘ฟ <--- Triggered Trumptard Zombie QUEEN ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚ #deporttrumptardzombies

    3. @Mighty Me Making bread? if you’re referring to bread as money, okay? I do just fine for myself. Even better in the last 3 years as a small business owner I finally was able to afford to give my employees health insurance thanks to the Trump tax cuts. Under Obama administration, I had to cut ALL full time employees to under 30 hours per week, and nobody got health insurance. Under trump I give less to the government and more to my AWESOME employees. God bless Trump

    1. @ckaz007

Little did James Madison realize that one day in the future (2008) weapons-manufacturing corporations, newly defined as โ€œpersonsโ€ by a dysfunctional Supreme Court, would use his slave patrol militia amendment to protect their โ€œrightโ€ to manufacture and sell assault weapons used to murder schoolchildren.

  5. Schiff answered that question like Zelezny claimed “No Pressure!”
He had his hostage-taker, sat right behind him, but Judge Roberts, The GOP, The Senate & American Democracy are ALL failing the smell test!

  6. The defense chooses not to address the question on the image of legitimacy of a trial with no witnesses.
    Why?
Perhaps addressing ethics is outside the purview of the defense.

    1. why do so many democrats think there was no witnesses? there was exactly 17 of them actually not to mention the few that were BLOCKED on request by republicans in the house. Yes Adam Schiff BLOCKED witnesses in the house. Where is your outrage?

    2. According to the statutes of law as it pertains to the rules for an impeachment hearing- witnesses, documents of evidence, & all things pertaining to supporting the charges against the president in the matter are to be introduced & tried during the HOUSE ( democrats) hearings. They decided to withdraw boltons supeona & quickly vote to impeach & bring the charges to the senate via nancy pelosi & her million pens!

    3. @Jennifer Thom and all subpoenas must be complied with.
But the Republicans rewrote the process the House followed as well as how the Senate will control their process(deciding if and which witnesses will be allowed).

  7. This trial by written questions is like a school board meeting rather than a serious trial for a high crime / misdemeanor.

    1. but there are no high crimes or misdemeanors so in reality, the entire thing is a big joke. Fraudulent unconstitutional articles of impeachment were submitted to the senate from an angry sore loser partisan democrat party. They are altering the 2020 election right in front of the entire countries eyes and getting away with it. The only high crimes are treasonous acts of Schiff and his cronies

  8. Yes, they’ve all lied about being impartial in front of a chief justice. This makes a mockery of the highest court in America

    1. Disagree. Our Founding Fathers knew about how power hunger people would slither into the Federal government Swamp. Listen to Justice Scalia, especially around the 3:30 mark to truly understand how AMERICA stands out of other past and present governments and why the apparent “gridlock/ broken” system you speak of….which is not true.
      https://youtu.be/Ggz_gd–UO0

    2. yes there is a huge flaw. A mad angry sore loser Democratic Party was allowed to submit fraudulent articles of impeachment. There needs to be another failsafe to this system that cannot ever happen again no matter which party republican or Democrat.

    3. POLL: Who is the biggest liar _(Mark with X)_
      [ ] E. Warren AKA Pocahontas
[ ] cnn AKA Clowns Not News

  9. A very pertinent and well-posed question.
The Supreme Court will soon discover how non-existent its “supremacy” really is.

    1. Don’t worry Trump will be attacking Roberts and attempt to destroy the any power that the SCOTU has next. Trump thinks he is a king and above the law because the Republicans have given him a pass to committee any crimes, participate in corruption, break laws, and not have the be held accountable to anything for his rogue behavior. Republicans do give a damn about the country they just want to keep power, and keep Trump as the president so they can have him to sign off on any and all things Republicans, stack the courts with only Republican Judges to protect them when they get in trouble and/or break the laws. Trump plans to continue to destroy our democracy and our government while the Republicans just do not give a damn about the American people they have sold out our country. What we are seeing happening before our eyes is a great travesty, and corruption by being committed by Trump and his Republican minions without a spine to stand up to Trump the bully.

  10. Here’s what’s wrong with Trumpโ€™s brain: on the left side, there is nothing left, and on the right side, there is nothing right.
