@Mark bodman That is where I got the data too. There are a lot of different graphs on that site. If you want to find one that spins data, it is pretty easy.
Like for example, expanding the rolling averages to 7 makes us look much better because our recent outbreak. Shorten it to 3 days and you see a significant difference that is a more accurate reflection to the current spike in cases.
However, we are doing worse than most countries and in particular, the country that had their first reported case on the same day. If we had responded like S Korea, our death toll would be around 1,700 total, not arround 130,000.
@Mark bodman go back to that link and click the data in the table. Go to the last column that says relative change. Sort by worst to best.
You will see the US at the very top and we are worse than the world average by nearly 10 times. No other country comes close.
