  1. History has many stories of companies that don’t treat there employees right, and they don’t end very well (for the powerful).Be fair to your employees.

  2. Didn’t mention anything about health insurance or cover their salary for the quarantine period. You are the disappointing one!!

  3. I hate the term “ We are doing everything we can”, my question is WTF DOES THAT MEAN…and What EXACTLY ARE YOU DOING? Otherwise I believe you are doing NOTHING when you say you’re doing all you can.

    1. @Money Bags and jukebox Please do not miss a single opportunity to whine and snivel. Either that or grow up. Your choice.

    2. @ruth depew I didn’t realize that pointing out corporate greed in the midst of a crisis is the same as whining & sniveling. Wow. I guess ya learn something every day.

    3. @ruth depew You are incapable of reading between the lines, listening to every word, hearing exactly what is being said. ( or NOT said ).. you are a lemming

  4. Finały they recognize The value of “”””” little””””” people!! Maybe this is a lesson for the future!!!

    1. @get it right Agree, but in so far as I can see, your too divided to stand together. Can’t see it. Hope you can.

    2. @get it right good plan. I can’t think of a better time then when the stores ramp up with post virus shoppers. Just saying, connecting by phone or online with other employees could mean getting a union up and running before work return. Makes it really hard for Walmart to find out. Go for it. Life needs to equal out.

    1. Yes, he deployed the word “disappointing” .. classic strategy to make the employee seem wrong.
I find his attitude that workers may not speak, and his obfuscating answer *disappointing*.

    2. @Marco
      Troll
You want 4 more years of Trump?
We can only hope Trump dies from the virus.

    3. Your Worst Nightmare – Is that Democrats are God hating, Jew hating , baby killing, fascist Nazis headed for hell.

  5. Notice the slight smile that he barely contained when he said it’s like Black Friday every day. That’s literally a dream scenario for any retailer. He and his family will celebrate this time. Appalling.

    1. Ok I get it may be he making a profit right now he didn’t cause the virus but these little corner store some of them need to be shut down there are price gouging I paid a dollar $0.25 for a roll of 1 ply toilet but what can you do is convenient and they have it what can you do

    2. Wilbert Ross try going early in the morning they have a limit per person but you can get a big package, also at Costco they have lots of toilet paper if you have a membership. 🙂

  6. “learning day by day” means waiting for governments to force businesses like walmart to uphold safety standards.

    1. AdrianMutu87 been waiting for someone else to see my pov on this

It irks me to hear it both from management and to hear it from the VP

  7. He said an employee won’t get fired over calling in sick but avoided addressing the fact that they won’t get paid and make so little they can’t afford the loss
    Of pay.

    1. Dustin Lynne hope you’re not a hypocrite and going to take bailout money. You should have saved enough to get through. Don’t be a socialist.

    2. Dustin Lynne you are small minded and uneducated with your comment. Humanity and empathy is your poverty.

    3. Well said Steve. We all pay the difference between something of a living wage (food stamps) and Wal-Marts pathetic excuse for wages. How many boats do you need to ski behind wal-mart family??

    4. i work full time here – zero benefits, unpaid leave that you can only use ONCE during this pandemic. on top of that, the signs and plexiglass barriers are useless. the stores are still packed and no one is social distancing. even some of the workers arent using gloves, masks, sanitizers etc that are literally available to them.

  8. “It was disappointing to hear that” Sounds like he might be looking for “Mellissa Love” and next downsizing for whatever reason she is out the door.

    1. @Joe M not a damn thing if corporate elites didn’t feel the need for hundreds of millions for ceo positions , while the people doing the hands on labor are paid starvation wages. They could do with much less with little effects on their daily lives , while the guy stocking shelves loses all if missing a single check.

  9. “Disappointing to hear”, “part of their public duty”. He appears to have no empathy for his staff whatsoever.

    1. These corporate people only think of the bottom line. Nothing else. Lowes and Home Depot are the same. They say you have options but when you apply for those benefits you get denied.

  10. And his staff needs food stamps to survive. Still think Bernie’s call for revolution is too much!?!?;?

    1. @John Greene Where are you getting Communism? Have seen nothing to do with that in this thread.

    1. Dustin Lynne if they are out of college then yes I would certainly say they should stop working at retail and get a proper job.

    2. Dustin Lynne funny you say that because I know people with college degrees who lost their jobs due to the shutdown . Ironically Walmart has better job security than any job if the apocalypse is coming 😂. Also the USA is about to enter the greatest economic downturn in history . Lots of people will be working at Walmart . Time to be humble , bitc h

    3. Dustin Lynne also it’s kinda funny you don’t consider it a real job but they are the only people working right now and they allow us to shop for grocery’s when the entire world is at home . Seems like they are a life line and it took a crisis to highlight it. But I didn’t expect you to read between the lines , you went to college all you did when you went was read the lines …. of text. College didn’t teach you to critically think , waste of money

    4. @Dustin Lynne you should try a small dose of empathy.

Stop kicking down. People who are not as well off and have no power are not the threat.

Corporations and the stupidly wealthy who don’t care about anything else besides getting even more money regardless of the cost are the real threat.

  11. This guy sucks. Notice he said “Employees won’t loose their job” and “Short-term disability is available”. Note he didn’t mention sick time.

    1. This is america so walmart will make money…it is called the GOP socialist agenda or capitalism I am not sure anymore

    2. Barbara Willis Correct. They actually include “how to apply for food stamps and subsidized housing” in their new-hire training. They teach you how to “work the system” so you can can keep WORKING COR THEM AND THEIR SHAREHOLDERS at below-a-living-wage.

    3. To be honest most companies have done away with sick time and make you use PTO for both sickness and vacation or personal days. I work in a hospital and it’s been that way for many years now

  12. Pandemic drinking game: take a shot every time a journalist is forced to “thank” a millionaire after they’ve blatantly avoided the question.

    1. Walmart is no Hero… I agree, pay them a living wage. Wal Mart did a bait & switch. they started off cheap and then after running numerous businesses out of business “they” begin jacking up their prices. Some Associates have told me they are getting lots of O.T. and yes they are giving a 200.00 bonus in their checks (big dam deal). What good is that if they Die from the virus.

  13. “The best part of our company are our associates”. So here’s a crazy idea. How about paying them a livable wage you leech.
