First, I’m surprised the settlement was so low. Second, Alex Jones did do this on purpose. He kept doing it and he continues to lie to his followers about everything. He’s horrible!
@Buckie Smalls yeah, just learned about the caps. Forgot that’s why all the crappy docs go to Texas for the malpractice caps. Ah well. Still a big bite; will be the same in the next Texas case. And hopefully CT case doesn’t have the same caps.
I’m surprised how many people don’t seem to understand the system, yet comment. The 4 million was compensatory damages to compensate the family. Today’s a award of $80 million are punitive damages.
@Easy Money It was many times more: Now at $49 million total.
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”
@TalesofStories you should search what needs to be searched not everything. This children death and their parents suffering were indisputable and HE KNEW IT¨Why didn’t he researched before spewing his conspiracy. Jumping on the big bad government did it as soon as something bad happens, dosent show an inquisitive mind, just a rigid one
@John Pichla first amendment dosent have anything to do with this. You people conflate that with my liberty to say whatever I want. Yes, you can but if turns out to be a lie than there may be consequences (if it is a defamation, like in this case, there are damages like he pays) and you better be prepared to assume them!
The accuracy 🏆
@John Pichla He committed a crime of the worst kind, whether it’s on a law book or not.
Socrates
Alex Jones’s lawyer accidentally leaking his entire phone history is Disney movie levels of justice.
@Atom63 yep…because Alex Jones is a damn serpent and deserves to be treated as such!!!😅😄🤣😆
So kid rapping justice…Disney right
I’m sorry it wasn’t accidentally.
He never apologized, he literally refuted her son’s existence IN COURT lol. I can’t wait till that garbage heap is penniless and in prison for perjury.
I’m sorry but it’s literally at 0:22?
@HIV Aladeen he’s said he had apologized. But there is no apology at the mark you note. Saying “I apologized” isn’t an apology, it’s claiming that he had apologized. Why are you believing this claim when every other thing he says is a lie?
@Justin White because it went to court, we know what’s true and what isn’t. I think an apology personally is better than an announcement broadcasted on CNN saying u apologised. And if he really didn’t apologise, we’d know by now because the parents would’ve stated that.
he’s an alcoholic bordering schizophrenic, and what he did was wrong and immoral. But to put him in jail for it? don’t be silly
In prison😂😂 you weirdos are obsessed with people going to prison themat wont be
Keep that same energy for hunter and old hair sniffer
Based
BTW his penalty should have been big enough that he he would be left penniless. What he said about those families, the hate he spewed, and the resulting threats and harassment that the families faced from Jones’s fans afterwards, was absolutely horrific.
He told the truth
The grief actors wee real
Damn right he did it on purpose and he did it for attention and to raise money. He was intentionally maligning.
They didn’t ask for his records. Lawyer said he already handed them
Over. Never said they asked. Seems he offers them.
Alex Jones claiming he didn’t do this on purpose is as ingenuine as someone who runs someone over with their car then backs up over them then runs them over again then backs up over them then runs over them again and claims it was an accident and not done on purpose.
@Derra Shomlo great rebuttal there bud…..
Nice…and he got paid everytime he ran them over
Basically
@Derra Shomlo If cartoon news network were a real thing, it would still be better than Fox News. lmfao
He did mean it and yes he made millions with conspiracy theories to hurt this family and all of the others and yes he should pay.
I don’t understand the motive for the lawyer to do that, perhaps contempt of court..
@Killer Rabbit If you watched the hearing, specifically his attorney, you’d believe it could easily be total incompetence. His attorney actually flipped off the plantiffs’ attorney IN the courtroom. That is something I have never seen an attorney do, at least not in a courtroom.
@B Bodziak
I agree.
I watched those incidents.
His lawyers are just incompetent.
Who knows how his supporters think that his lawyers sending his texts is grounds for an appeal..
“err, your honor, we are clueless halfwit, do over?”
He knew exactly what he was doing at the time, he was cashing in on the insane beliefs of those that follow him, and the fact that this brings him millions of dollars is just a sad statement.
More than ‘sad’. This is pure, unvarnished evil.
My coworkers are proud supporters of Alex Jones.
@CW Eric You have my condolences…
I call BS. The claims he made and continued to make over many, many years were verifiably false. No ifs, no buts, he lied and continues to do so. He was caught lying to the court! He is totally untrustworthy on any level. Take his blood money, all of it, and give to those families!
@Everest0214 whatever
@Eldorf The_Wise thanks I fixed. I was at work so it was quickly texted
@Eldorf The_Wise also no I know why lol
Alex Jones: “but i didn’t do it on purpose” ….what he ment to say “I did it for money” which makes it all better! 🤦♂️
Nothing can take away from the suffering these parents had to endure from what Alex Jones was screaming to his fans, but I’m so happy they got a judgement… I hope the other trials go as well if not better (by better I mean a bigger financial hit)
Really ?? Did Alex Jones take ANY time to interview any of the families to confirm or FACT CHECK his lies before he started flapping his mouth ??
Alex Jones defense might actually be brilliant. “I didn’t do it on purpose”
Look at the lawyer he hired, sent the prosecution all the evidence they needed. “I didn’t do it on purpose”
He lied under oath “I didn’t do it on purpose”.
I mean he’s clearly guilty of torturing the victims of an elementary school shooting, his choosen defense is the only option that had at least a 1% chance of working. (But ultimately him hiding his own money so he can declare bankruptcy defense is much stronger, the old white man defense)
My personal opinion: did the assistant truly “ACCIDENTALLY “ send the phone logs? I don’t think she did that accidentally.
@Lauren Daryani agreed, but don’t forget that in addition to what you’ve mentioned, the plaintiffs’ lawyers behaved ethically, notified Jones’ lawyers of their error, and gave them the opportunity to rectify it, which the failed (or elected not) to do. It’s one thing “accidentally “ sending the files, quite another to not respond when they were told of their mistake. It makes it appear far more likely that the defence deliberately threw the case (perhaps for reputation management?)
@Saundra Michael-bey You have a right to not self-incriminate, sure. But you have to choose to exercise that right, in the same way you may have a right to bear arms but you’re not required to, you make the choice whether to have a gun, or not. The evidence is certainly admissible by dint of the fact that it was deemed admissible by the presiding judge. His lawyers speak on his behalf so they have, basically, decided on his behalf not to exercise his rights under the 5th Amendment. Tough luck.
even s/he COULDN’T STAND HIM & HIS LIES!!! It got to be BAD!!
@Roy Flush for what? he already admitted that HE LIED….
@Killer Rabbit ikr? I “accidentally” lied, LMAO
“I didn’t do it on purpose” is the same as shooting randomly into a crowd killing many and then claiming “it was wrong to shoot a gun in that direction, but I didn’t kill that person on purpose, or that particular person, or that specific person…”
If Jones “didn’t do it on purpose,” then why is he still doing it everyday during his trial?
Accidently send all info on his phone to the prosecution? LMAO most incompetent lawyer ever.
“It’s not my fault!”
The excuse of every person who doesn’t want to be ever held accountable
This trial will set the precedent to keeping people like this accountable, including any member of government and media.
