Had a fire behind my home here in NSW put out only to have the fire fighters back within 10 minutes because the hot wind had reignited the damn thing. Then you get days where the nearest fire is 10km away, but the winds are blowing ash and burnt eucalyptus leaves in your backyard!

1. We have satellite technology that can see through smoke. Also thermal imaging on aircraft is a thing. Maybe govt has taken away funding too long.

What good is thermal imaging when fire weather conditions ( large fore systems create their own weather systems) combined with prevailing wind conditions ground your fleet? A firie was killed andf another injured last weekend on the border when their truck was picked up and tossed by a fire tornedo.

@PeaceTreety Just a guy on internet who looked up the Australian state budget and GDP and came to the conclusion that you have more than enough money to deal with that fire problem. It’s just that you have neglected your fire rescue capabilities for some reason. It’s not a question of money to take care of the fires, it’s a question of will. Proper countries have plans for risks like wildfires.

Its unecessary to plant trees because they can regenerate by themselves. The problem is we humans cut too many trees.
