I’ve often wonder what is the qualifications for reading the news in Jamaica. I lived in Canada since 1975. I’ve have never seen a reading mistake made during a news broadcast . While I hardly ever listen to one Jamaican news broadcast without a reading or pronunciation error. Our current problem as a nation is not oppression. It is lowered standards

While I agree that we should have, and maintain, a certain level of professionalism, I often loathe when those of us who’ve lived abroad make unreasonable comparisons of our doing-the-best-we-can 3rd world country with the affordable standards of 1st world countries! It isn’t fair!
