Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg responds to Wednesday's Senate vote advancing the Biden-backed bipartisan infrastructure package and discusses the president's expected announcement to require federal workers get the Covid-19 vaccine or submit to testing. "We just saw 17 Republican senators stick their necks out alongside Democrats saying we've got to do this," he tells Stephanie Ruhle.

Sec. Pete Buttigieg Speaks On Senate Infrastructure Vote
It’s just like step 3 out of 100. Long way to go.
Knock knock who’s there
It’s flu & pneumonia just letting you know we’ll be returning this fall 2021😉
Pneumonia season is every season. Next time you try to look brilliant, actually know what you’re talking about. Misinformation is not needed these days.
It’s like a dog for dinner, you can pretty much count of it.
@Da Debbil ssshhh not in 2020 alllllllllllll cuffid lmao
Fifteen days to flatten the curve. Keep living in fear lefties.
I guarantee you Republicans will use the “debate” to try to dilute it further.
Always articulate Secretary Buttigiege.
Clearly our infrastructure needs much fixing. Crumbling everywhere. Let’s get this done.
Everyone gets old. Provide apprenticeship training in all these projects to incorporate promotions, ad well, and the future senior citizens are going to need some safety net, too, or else they will be living under the new bridges, later on! Planing, make better plans for the future!!!
That’s why people need to work Union jobs. All you said is built into them.
I’ve worked in both, but I enjoyed the places where I could learn and do; electrical, mechanical, and administrative all together for my best future.
you mean 2085 2130
The Biden-backed, bipartisan infrastructure package, is what America need, right now!
The words Biden and bipartisanship are incapable of existing together
@XXII Elhazaroth Pagangrinder LXXXVIII biden and America neither
This isn’t bipartisan. The Republicans refused to play ball at all unless the bill was cut by two thirds. Engineers estimate we need 2.4 trillion dollars to fix our roads and bridges let alone build new ones. And what did the Democrats get? They get to say they debated with the other side when all they did was cut and cut and cut until the could get 17 out of 50 Republicans to talk about it. And the bill will never pass. The Republicans are bad faith negotiators. They’ve proved it repeatedly in the past. Without changing the filibuster, the Democrats will get nothing past. And because the Republicans used the power they had when they had it federally, and continue to in the states, we won’t see a democratic majority anything in any federal or state body. The Republicans have almost completely rigged the game and we let them.
His opening statement is “we just saw 17 Republican s stick their necks out” For what?? The American people?? A better standard of living? Jobs? Roads? Bridges? Internet for people in rural areas? Republicans stuck their necks out?????
you can get rooms with a nice view , in the swamp , if you know the right people
Since when don’t we, in rural areas, not have internet?.. I must be posting this magically instead of using the internet..
@david brandie tRump Hotel
stuck their necks out? Mitch has no neck. which is a hurdle for a turtle.
Is it possible for republican senators feel the need to do something real about infrastructures after 4 years of Trump-donothinginfrastructureweeks
No they are just weak minded
RESIST THE DEMOCRATS!! ORGANIZE REPUBLICANS AND BLOCK AND IMPEED THE DEMOCRATS AT ALL COST!
Secretary Pete ??? can’t pronounce the guy’s name huh
Larry elder for governor of California. Recall newsillini.
Always so refreshing to watch Pete address substantive issues in such a composed and erudite manner. He’s obviously the smartest kid in the class.
Exactly true of that
-10%(BIG GUY FEE)
Well done on getting the infrastructure deal. Definitely a big achievement. Now get senate do voting rights and filibuster too.
This is not a good deal. The president originally wanted three trillion dollars. Engineers estimate that it will cost 2.4 trillion dollars to repair all of our bridges roads etc etc that are crumbling at the moment. And because Republicans got their way and got us to chip out 2/3 of the money being spent in the bill they won. They got exactly what they wanted, and the American people are getting short changed. Again. All because everyone wants to be “bipartisan.” How is it bipartisan for one group to demand changes to a bill, offer zero alternatives to whatever they don’t like, and threaten to take their toys and leave if the Democrats don’t cave. This is the Democrats failing miserably once again to use the power that they have to make people’s lives better because they’re too stupid to know they have the power, or how to use it as their opponents did when they were in control. And after 2022, you won’t see a majority democratic anything in any federal or state government. The Republicans used their power when they could, and still are.
USA ANTIQUE INFRASTRUCTURE: “The eyes of history are on this appointment.” – Buttigeig.
1964 Japan’s first bullet trains were put in service and the the first Beatles album was released.
1998 China started the construction of 36,000km of high speed railways and high speed trains.
2021 USA still has NO high speed trains and NO safe overpasses or apartment blocks.
Secy. Pete has been an excellent spokesman for the Biden admin.
