The average American spends thousands a year on prescription drugs because Americans are being ripped off on the price of drugs, all this money will be saved from the tax payer because Bernie will stop big pharmaceutical companies making obscene profits off the public. Yes you’ll pay a little more in taxes but after the savings on prescriptions will be much better off financially and not have to worry about the cost of healthcare if you get sick. @Mariacanfly 1. no one owes you healthcare. not even people who have it. it is not a right. And the cost will raise taxes more than people will save in out of pocket expenses.
2. why would people with good healthcare risk the lives of their own children and families to pay for worse healthcare for everyone? Voters are not going to vote for that no matter what you say. Its unrealistic to expect them to, and they can say the same about you…that you only care about your needs, so this argument that people should give up their healthcare for you is not a good one for getting support from the electorate. I think improving existing healthcare programs for people who cant afford it is more achievable.
3. The premise that you cant go to a doctor is also problematic…because you can. Hospitals cannot turn people away for lack of ability to pay and there is medicaid and clinics. The idea that this is not good enough for you brings me back to point #2, embracing your argument means that everyone would be the same in long waits and the government deciding who lives and who dies.
4. And no matter what healthcare you are given by the government, it will never be enough unless it is exactly the same for everyone and you know it, which again brings me back to point #2
5. The left also wants to import votes across the southern border to the tune of 30k-40k people a month, and give them free health care too. That’s the size of Miami Florida every year…and all dirt poor in need of social services. And if anyone even suggests reasonable immigration policies they are vilified by the entire spectrum of the democrat controlled media as Racist! You see the problem here? No one believes you because the left are not good faith actors. They are incredibly manipulative destroyers of jobs and families in this country while marching under the banner of righteousness. And you wonder why your arguments don’t get traction.
6. Yes healthcare is very expensive, and the industry is moving to mid tier providers to lower costs. But if i were you, I would throw my political support behind expanding Obamacare because it already exists and i think it is more realistic.
