@Nicholas Cazmay From what I can tell Mr.Putin considered Ukraine in particular to be a Russian vulnerability. What makes Ukraine special in this way is unclear to me. However I believe that it has much to do with geographic landscape from a strategic viewpoint and also the historical ties and heritage shared by both countries.

It’s incredible how much invested I’v e become in this terrible war.. I was always interested in military topics and followed geo politics and weapons development, but I never thought I could support one nation so much as I stand by Ukraine. Part of the reason has to be the fact that this is something special. We have a major war in Europe that involves a nuclear power with imperial and criminal aspirations.. After a long long time I am pleased to see my tax payer money going towards the military budget and to supporting Ukraine.. I also see the need to enlarge our defense budget in face of the revisionist Russia and beligerent China with aspirations to invade and assimilate Taiwan… We all know that is the Rubicon and that we should intervene on the behave of Taiwan. Thankfully Russia turned out to be a paper bear that can be contained and maybe even beaten with 10% of forces and investment we thought it would need. Europeans are rearming (unless they start to follow that delusional Macron with his strategic independence while being completely incapable of defending Europe from Russia without US). We need more NATO alliance (welcome Finland by the way) and similar agreements in Asia (AUKUS is a great first step which will result in one of our strongest allies becoming a nuclear submarine powerhouse)… Age of the counter insurgency and fighting against the ragheads who drive around in Toyota pick-up trucks armed with large caliber machine guns, is over.. Great power friction is back. Let’s build alliances like during the Cold war. Of course the first step towards this is reelect Biden cause these MAGA clowns with the master clown in charge will start signing treaties with Kim Jong-Il, Xi and Putin, against those “pesky” Japs, S Koreans, Poland, Germany, Baltic states and Australia…
