Here is a potential solution. Every local public college and university should have a publicly funded journalism school. And that journalism school should do local news. Our state colleges and universities are one of the few local institutions that could serve the public interest, not be primarily profit driven, and stay politically independent.

His comedy was mostly indictments, some on journalism, There was laughter but many were not smiling. They likely attend to see who is there, talk shop maybe, be on camera but these are always uncomfortable, some awkward truth, and a who’s who showplace. I’ve seen funnier ones but they were during less dangerous times.
It takes a comedian to speak the truth. It takes the big number of years to rejoice in uprightness. 🍷😁
