Mitch McConnell may also be fearing GOP’s loss in 2020, with a new op-ed defending the rights of the minority in the Senate, which is currently held by Democrats.

I agree. Do you remember when the female Secret Service agent refused a position on his detail? She knew and took a principled and moral stand right from the start. It caused a bit of a ruckus back then but she saw the situation clearly and though it may have affected career advancement, she declined for the best of reasons. She didn’t think she could risk her life protecting a man who espoused hatred and disrespect for everything she held dear. Too bad Moscow Mitch and the rest of that den of criminals don’t feel the same way.

Many moons ago there was a cartoon about the Watergate affair in Time Magazine. Picture this: an aircraft carrier named USS Nixon, with a mast and radar screen that looked like Nixon’s face and head. On board were any number of elephants (labeled with the names of the administration’s appointees), most were on the edge of the ship, some had jumped off and the others looked very worried. There were also rats galore jumping ship (all labeled with the then current names of the operatives that were involved in the Watergate break-in). Again today we see that the rats are jumping ship and like any rat, they start to squeal when under pressure.

Misconstrued ideas. Gun laws will lead to banning firearms. The fossil fuel industry propagating that climate change scientists are in it for the money. Any social program will lead to socialism. These ideas have been ingrained into their beliefs all their lives. It is going to be very difficult to educate about these ideas because they already know them to be true.
