“…LBJ, the war monger himself.” I’ve listened to a recording of LBJ having a phone conversation with an advisor before the big “escalation” of U.S. involvement. Johnson was being advised to dramatically ramp-up the U.S. effort, while he expressed his discomfort with the idea, telling the advisor (to paraphrase) “war is an easy thing to get into, but a terrible mess to get out of.” We’ve learned that lesson again, now, in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Nixon lied and prolonged that war a Democratic Congress defunded the war and shut that traitor down

I had just had a talk with my son’s about the Pentagon Papers last Memorial Day. And what their granddad (My dad) had to see in Vietnam.
The failure to prosecute Nixon before the election is the kind of “polite” politics that is destroying our government.

The Reason for the Vietnam War ? At the End of WWII , France , wanted the USA to Honor their Treaties , so they can Take Back their French Colonies throughout the world , including Vietnam , which they Lost during the War , Apparently, Truman , Eisenhower Agreed , the French tried to Reinstate their Rule of Government , Industries , ect. in Vietnam , but were rebuked by the Citizens , when the French Army was Defeated in the 1950’s , and Kicked out of Country , the USA Was Obligated to Help , intervene due to the Treaty Agreement with the French , So at first , We Entered Vietnam with just Advisors , JFK said the War was ” Dropped on his Lap ” said ” No Way We Can Win Over There ” then came : November 22 , 1963 : the Rest is History . . . .
