I read “The Warmth of Other Suns.” The whites did not want the black population to leave. It was insane.
Read Isabel Wilkerson’s latest book, Caste. I’m a 76 year old American white woman living in Berlin for the past 31 years. I was involved with the civil rights movement in the States and taught at the first Minneapolis school to have busing. I’m still friends with some of my students from those days in 1968, and know what Kamala meant when she said, “That little girl was me.” It changed everything in their generation and the every generation moving forward. Later, I taught in the neighborhood they moved away from. Those former students did not fare so well. The most promising student was murdered, most did not go on to college. But one shining star was Terry Lewis, my ninth grade student. He is half of the production team, with Jimmy Jam Harris, who put Janet Jackson on the map, and were probably the most winning production team in r and b. So much of it is about education. So much more to say… I just raised a Black/German/African young man, now 24, for the last ten years. He’s bilingual and his African grandfather has a PhD from a German university. Two years ago he went to Atlanta for the first time. When he came back he was incredulous. “Black people were in every walk of life! They own Atlanta. It was amazing!” Charles Blow is the pulse of that part of Black America, as he has been for many years.

The suburbs, of big cities all over the country are now much more diverse than a few decades That’s why Trump lost them. By pandering to a heavily rural, small town base, he pushed suburban voters toward the views of the cities
That will not help the Republicans in the long run. Why? If ppl in the urban areas get more affluent then the are going to live in the suburbs, and there are not a lot of ppl living in the rural areas to make a political difference.

You did see the plugs of his book right behind him the whole time he was talking, right? You can almost guarantee that EVERYTHING he was talking about is discussed in the book…in other words, if you want to know/hear more…go buy the book.
You can also just do the research yourself.
