@Chicken Leg Yeah I’m from Canada, QC , about 40ish % income tax, that’s without all the taxes on items you buy and all. That’s exactly why I live a minimalistic life. Interest income doesn’t get taxed as much !

@Chaz Coats-Butcher But then he surrendered, pled guilty, and was generally accomodating with the police. The lawyer said this is usually 5 years and he got 6 is a bit strange considering his actions.
If he had went in gun blazing, I would say he should be charged with terror and a life sentence… but he didn’t do it.

@Thomas Bui Did it occur to you that the lawyer’s already setting up a framework for an appeal? Outside of the courtroom the lawyers can say anything. They often try to stir up public support.
@K Nelson No it did not occur to me like that. I suppose it’s possible the lawyer is trying to spin things his way. Then again, I only know the details coming from his side. If the Crown is willing to provide more details, like what the precedences were, then I’m willing to change my mind.
