  1. The GOP is holding America hostage and the Democrats have to comply.

Its like an abusive spouse threatening to harm the children. If the other doesn’t comply with their demands.

Its sick, its heartless and history will not look kindly on the GOP’s betrayal of the American people.

    Edit: Host to Hostage

    1. I think you mean “hostage.” Yes, I agree. $600 isn’t a enough. Senators have a salary of $174,000, full benefits, and they work fewer hours than most Americans. Why should they care?

  2. BLM protesters: “Defund the police!”
Senate republicans blocking state funding for 5 months: “OK!”
    BLM protesters: 😲

    1. And this has nothing to do with cutting funds from the police? I don’t think you understand what that term means buddy.

    2. what are you trying to say, if your insinuating Joe Biden want to defund the police that is a lie, BLM what has that got to with anything

    3. @gabby Lane I know Biden doesn’t want to defund the police. I also know “defund the police” is more about re-allocating funds to things like community policing and social services. My point is that it turns out it was the republicans who effectively “defunded the police” by refusing to pass state-level funding that would have gone to pay police salaires.

    4. @Daniel Schlobach The goal is to stop spending money on things that clearly have not worked for decades (militarization of the police) and shift those funds to social services, community policing, mental health services instead. So “cutting funds” is misleading. You don’t keep putting money into a vending machine that only eats your money, right? Same idea.

  3. And trump wasting money going to court that money could have been used to help people the money getting from people to pay off his debts could be used for people who doing it hard

  4. PRIVILEGE: Imagine earning $174,000 each year and getting free healthcare, pensions, etc. regardless of your performance, and refusing to pass a nickel in Covid relief support to your constituents for months upon end during a crisis.

    1. And yet the same people who are suffering still voted for Mitch and Lindsey and others Republican leaders who are enemy of progress

    1. She’s hoping that Democrats win the Senate, because if so, there WILL be real relief on its way, because (most) Democrats want to get substantial aid to individuals and to stressed city and town budgets. It all comes down to Georgia.

  5. Sad some comment doesn’t want to face the truth. Still blaming Democrats. There’s no decency among the Republicans following Dondal Trump McConnell Graham.and others.

    1. @Barri Martin it’s not like they listen to us or anything. They’re all just patting themselves on the back and congratulating each other for the wonderful work they’re doing for Americans

  6. Are the people supposed to say thank you or are you kidding me. Other countries have been given their citizens 3000 a month since March smh..

  7. This bill is underwhelming. That amount of direct payments to the American people is minuscule. Congress should do better.

  8. How much did those tax funded dinners that Pompeo held cost? What about all the parties at the White House? Just one table of guests cost us more than $600 and they think it will pay for rent? They get paid $174,000 plus lots of benefits to sit around and decide what’s best for everyone else and then go home to their nice homes to celebrate Christmas with their families while others stand in line to get food!
