Rep. Ro Khanna: GOP Use ‘Tired Arguments’ To Oppose Minimum Wage Increases | The Last Word | MSNBC
They would prefer that people scrape and simp. That’s how the GQP rolls.
No, they know the problem goes deeper then 15$ an hour and can’t be fixed. It’s an awful idea. Cost go up so making 15$ won’t make a difference
@Todd dont bother with these people. Their thinking only goes as far as “Want help poor? Give them money.”
Even Poor tyRumpsuckers oppose a living wage, lol. They’d rather give all their tax dollars to the corporations ripping them off.
Ro Khanna will do everything to help people get more money, but Republicans will call him an Evil Minority. This is always the end result.
my friend read a book on economics. just one please.
@Anonymous I can read an entire library, and my comment will still stand.
V L sure, but read it first. Just search up one article against the minimum wage, and read it without being biased. Try it out.
Every worker deserves a living wage, $15 – $25 an hour. People can’t live on less, and it benefits the whole economy.
I’m sorry but the McDonald’s workers in my neighborhood do not deserve $25 an hour
It doesn’t matter the job, if you’re working full time you should get a living wage. If you’re a bad employee, you’ll eventually get fired, but being a bad employee shouldn’t mean you can’t afford rent, food, water and all basic necessities. No one deserves to live on the street. No one.
@aaron turnupseed Even slaves were promised “Room and Board”. The minimum wage does not pay enough, even when working full time, to cover “Room and Board” those folks then have to be subsidized by the government; – – – that is, the government subsidizes these businesses who are even worse than slave owners who had to provide “Room and Board” to their slave to keep them! – – – WTF, what a screwed up system!
There’s a reason why the poorest rural states and districts are mostly republican-run. I mean you’d think that decades of leadership in Alabama, Kentucky, the Dakotas, and Arkansas would result in not being the bottom of the barrel in every standard of living category, right? 🤔😅😂
Sad thing is, if there’s a good idea in there, it’s lost in the noise.
If you are looking for cheap labor to exploit in America look 👀 no further than Alabama! Alabama’s minimum wage is stuck at $7.25 per hr! Heck, I pay $25 per hr just to rake my leaves 🍁, shovel my snow ⛄️ and do simple garden work!
In Ontario, the minumum wage jumped from $11.60 to $14 an hour overnight on New Year’s day in 2018. Nothing changed and doomsday predicted by conservatives in this province did not materialize to date. It was supposed to rise to $15 an hour in 2019 but the newly elected CONservative premier cancelled in late 2018. It is now $14.25.
Hey 👋, can I move to Ontario and Canada 🇨🇦? I’m liberal and a Social Democrat by nature. I have friends and family in the Southern Ont. and Vancouver BC area. I have skills beyond just tRolling against racists, tRumpists and Russian tRolls? Would you sponsor me?
I truly believe the Republicans would just rather be obstructionist
Republicans would rather hurt the people who don’t agree with them than help the people who do.
Well let’s pay them Minimum wage and see if they can pay their bills
Why don’t you guys get paid 15 Dollars, with all the crap you put out your not worth it
Pick a subject. Any subject. They’re ALL tired arguments. The GOP hasn’t got anything else.
Supporting everyday Americans after the fact, is what one should expect of the Regressive Republican Party.
Because it’s always about the corporate bottom line 😞
The system dictates that the lobbyists get what they want, not what’s fair or right for working people! Campaign finance reform should be our highest priority.
come on already, even Canada gives out better wages at 11.00 plus as minimun wage, USA earners should get as much!!!!
Jesus loves and cares about you so much so repent so That we all make it to heaven,
Like so more people can see this.
The constituents of the GQP needs to vote them out. In the next election, and put a progressive that will help really help them.
Those who oppose the minimum wage being raised to $15 an hour, should be forced to work for less than $15 an hour for a year.
A “Mom and Pop” would have a tough time dishing out $15/Hour while waiting for their small community to get to spending enough to cover the expense.
If they can’t, they die with the debt attached, and Wal-Mart gets the lost business.
