Great player and it’s well known that Jazz Drummers are the best. RIP.
A decent and talented man. He will be missed. RIP Charlie Watts.
So sad to hear this news. RIP Charlie and a massive thank you for everything you did. You will be missed.
Im taking my laptop right now after i post this message and braking my lap top on the day he died
A Truly fine Drummer from the old school,Like Ginger Baker, Charlie was Great and a Very smart guy. God bless. 🥁📺
Nice homage Mr Williams. Charlie Watts will indeed be missed. RIP
RIP to another legend.
Indeed. Don Everley and now Charlie.
What a CV Charlie had. Over 50 years with the Rolling Stones and no gaps. A true loyal legend.
Wonderful eulogy Brian.
May he rest in peace.
They even named a measure of electricity after him.
Pffft. James Watt FRS FRSE (1736–1819) Scottish inventor, mechanical engineer, and chemist
Ok, that was cute…
I grew up with this music. Thanks Charlie Watts for the best of our life time!
Truth, the best of our life time.
I still use the opening 5 seconds, especially the opening crash, of Watt’s drumming on “Emotional Rescue” for testing audiophile speakers/headphones (to see if I’ll buy them or keep them): it’s very short, but very interesting and well recorded.
Of course, he has a lot more memorable moments, even though I’m not a huge Stones fan. Thoughts go out to his friends and family; think I’ll listen to the underrated “Steel Wheels” before bed.
Such a brilliantly crafted eulogy…
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
R.I.P. Charlie… 🎶 🥁 🎶
RIP Charlie Watts
Legendary Drummer
the gentleman of rock and roll . the backbeat of it all .
Rest in Heaven Charlie Watts, my deepest condolences to the Stones… He was the best, he was the soul of the Stones. Miss you…
RIP Charlie.. and on a side note.. Bring Brian back on a national level.. he’s a true newsman.. he was railroaded..
He’s a lying, liberal communist
@Rick Hilde you cannot be liberal and a communist.
@92balthazar can’t be a “Democratic Socialist” either, but that’s the story
@Rick Hilde I think it depends on the context. See the Nordic countries for example. But in the American context, the Democrats are too centre-right to be socialist. At least at the moment.
He was fired for lying about his chopper being hit by an RPG. Integrity is critical to being a news anchor, but apparently not for being a presidential candidate. Hillary made a similar lying self-aggrandizing claim of ducking sniper fire in Bosnia, and she won the popular vote in 2016. That just shows how screwed up we are (I tore up my 2016 absentee ballot in disgust).
This eulogy was perfect! Best one I’ve heard so far💔😭
Agreed
Charlie Watts was and is a true legend. RIP sir.
If you start him up, he’ll never stop. RIP Charlie Watts.
Rest in peace, Charlie. Thank you for your legendary talent. The Rolling Stones will never be the same without you.
The beginning of the end of a fantastically unparalleled musical era, whether The Stones survive this or not … God Bless Charlie Watts 🙏
Man, I wish you were wrong. Unfortunately, true music crafted by genuinely talented individuals is going the way of the dinosaur; replaced by autotune and “hip hop” garbage that anyone with a few bucks can crank out and unleash on an unsuspecting public ad nauseam. But
Rock & Roll will NEVER DIE!🎶🥁🎸🎷🎤
After watching a dozen or so reports of the passing of Charlie Watts, I must applaud Brian &or whoever wrote this bio. Well done. So sad for his wife, family & the Stones. RIP Charlie
