Remembering Katherine Johnson, The Mathematician Who Reached For The Moon | MTP Daily | MSNBC
remarkable woman
What a wonderful part she has played as a human computer in the early days of NASA.
May God bless her soul………
If you ask me the Apollo era was one of the only times I’ve ever considered America to be ‘Great”… Thank you for this story, it’s always good to see some of the 400,000 people that made this happen… And my she rest in peace, she up there amongst the stars with Neil Armstrong…
She’s got a red carpet waiting for her upstairs!
I was going to say something nice. But they explained jim crow keeping the other women away as if they were less than human. Humans are sick creatures.
How’s your neighborhood???? ……Yeah that’s what I thought. #getyourprioritiesstraight
Smart, she was so smart and courageous
Now this woman deserved the medal of freedom!
Why? I agree Limbaugh didn’t deserve it, but why does she?
Councilman Les Wynan You should read a book
Obama gave it to her in 2015
How’s tRumps “Space FArse” working out? Have we reached Mars or UrAnus yet?
She was pivotal in reaching the Moon. Where is the recognition by the President for her efforts? Where is the recognition by NASA for her efforts? Wake up world to the fact that women – all women – are human beings and are to be recognised and acknowledged for their efforts as much as their male counterparts.
She wasn’t “pivotal”, all she did was double check the numbers with other members of a team.
She was my hero even if I’m just 11!! I’m crying! 😥
Rip
God bless

Rest in peace to ourremarkable sister ☮️
Thank you for reporting about this remarkable person and her Medal of Freedom award. I am definitely going to watch Hidden Figures.
Wow I was 19 when it happened on holiday in Rome Italy! So exciting, everyone glued on the box watching the first men on the moon! What a incredible smart woman! I didn’t know about her until I sow the movie! RIP Catherine Johnson a brilliant mathematician🌹🌹🌹 🙏💕🌹🇦🇺
Hide and seek with history, another BLACK PERSON helping USA RIP
Good go see that this remarkable woman was finally celebrated during her lifetime. Rest In Peace, you deserve it.
Amazing woman.
Ms Johnson and the rest of her colleagues who worked with dedication need to be recognized more. How about a statute in D C …Smithsonian’s space museum….and in the lobbyist entrance to the NASA building ? And on the history books so or ur grandchildren are aware if their achievement.
My class room was making a project of her becuase of black history month and we were so sad becuase she passed away during the project
I was going through a box of old stuff the other day, and I found my old slide rule. And now to hear about Katherine, I bet she had one of the bamboo ones, mine still worked like it was new.
