Reform: Officers Who Detained 6-Year-Old At Gunpoint Sued Under New Law | The Beat With Ari Melber
I got physically ill watching this. It’s reprehensible , so wrong. Those poor children should never have to go through this 😢
@He Who Greets With FireThere is Many of Corrupt Police Officers who Had not been Following Racial Equality Law which was long time passed by Congress On 1970 and Police Officers Knows they Committed Racial Injustice crime against Black People but Police Officers Did it for Attention.
@Robert O’Brien Police officers are Breaking Racial Equality Law and Targeting Different Race of People is Not OK. also Police Officers need to Follow Civil Law because Police Officers Targeted Different Race of Children which made Children to Traumatized. It’s against Civil Law.
These are more common than you think in this country. Sad!
I had to step away and stop crying in order to finish the segment. I don’t know how we can help end it breaks my heart.
@Robert O’Brien let’s hope not my God.
There is no excuse for treating the children like that.
WITH OUT CAUSE
With out cause
@Maxine Fowler Christ, has everyone forgotten already? SMH
@Serai3 Strange
@evans mcevans It’s called DRIVING WHILE BLACK, LIVING WHILE BLACK ETC.
This was a traumatizing event for the kids. I hope the prosecution makes it a life changing experience for these pigs!
Pigs is too mild a term. Cockroaches is a better description.
That would make sense.
They definitely have their karma cut out for them!
Police Unions should pay for lawsuits – not the taxpayers.
@Zeecals Decals 👏👏👏👏💯
HueY💯
Chicago residents paid about 100 million dollars for police lawsuits last year.
If us police acted like police in other Western societies, none of this would ever happen. Us police recruitment and training is heavily flawed
Yes.
I’m tearing up just hearing those cries and watching the way they are being treated. I hope the plaintiffs win in court.
Would you mind crying for me in my absence, because I lost the ability to cry after lots of mental and emotional damage a few years ago.
@CAPTINREX 22 part of my makeup is compassion and I’m grateful that I’ve been blessed with it.
@C O’Neal Black compassion for others is a wonderful thing, I applaud you Sir.
I am so so sorry to see this. I do not understand!!!
Disgraceful! See it for yourself- children’s at gunpoint.
@ no one U know -On the contrary there are over 7 billion individual substances of a rational nature, which in ancient theology and medieval scholastics is understood by this PERSON. Each of us possesses our own humanity and naturally each of us have INDIVIDUALITY. Hence we all look different with humanity as our formal part.
For your ending default assertion I will simply quote the 13th century Latin doctor communis,” Blackness excludes whiteness, but the mere term whiteness does NOT exclude blackness”.
Common sense says whiteness proceeds from blackness and not conversely.
I said all that to say the posters verbiage was adequate for the common man to apprehend what was meant to be understood.
@yes hello – I remember when I was first starting school, one of my grade three teachers was a colored lady from Sri Lanka who wore a Sari. There were hardly any colored people in the town where I grew up. (This teacher was the first one I’d ever seen….a long time before TVs were common where I grew up.) And I remember coming home to my mother and excitedly telling her about “my teacher with such an amazing sun tan”. Sure, I see the differences in skin tones, but it always blows me away (infuriates me really) when people treat others “differently” just because of the color of their skin. Only when we see each other as equals, regardless of skin color (or other differences, such as handicaps or disabilities) can we ever hope to live in harmony.
@yes hello, perfectly said
@D A I understood just fine. And I explained how it came off to ME and maybe others. I’m very good and competent with languages. I stand by what I’ve stated. Good day.
@no one U know- I answer that if you comprehend as you suppose, then if you were to REMOVE the white supremacy connotations and tendencies signified by a term or word, the essential concepts and idea would still be proper to the term in itself. For instance my 1971 birth certificate says ,” N@gro”, remove the white supremacy and still the essentials are proper to the word in itself.
The 21st century is emotions and feelings first, logic and reason second . Color or lack thereof is a accidental quality in genus of species, but only essential to the individual who possess it. It then follows we ALL look different by reason of INDIVIDUALITY and not ALIEN from outer space.
I hope I cleared things up.
Imagine having to tell your daughters, “Have a wonderful day. Be invisible.” 😕
Truth
😢
It was very hot that day. Just imagine what that blacktop felt like.
I don’t have to “imagine” I know what the blacktop feels like!! As do many of us in the Black communities!!
Her legs literally shakin
Those cops should have the same things done to them
Yeah, that was exactly the point to what they were doing – torture. They just felt like torturing somebody.
I just hate police,
Jesus Christ! They were actually very aware of the fact that they had multiple, upset witnesses and that they were being filmed. Can you imagine how they would have behaved without knowing full well that they had an audience?
sounds to me that they know the system is set up to let them get away with anything. That is why they aren’t even bothered that this has multiple witnesses, videoed in broad daylight. Imagine what they do to black kids at night when nobody is watching. Look up Aurora, CO police abuse. They are sadistic, sociopathic killers.
@Jeff York I’m honestly afraid to look it up. This popped up this morning when I was cooking breakfast, and it literally made me nauseous. I was so angry that I was shaking. I cannot imagine how that mother felt watching this happen to her children and being powerless. I can’t stop thinking ab that.
@Jeff York I wonder how they feel now knowing they no longer have immunity 🤔
Abuse of power. These officers & all like them should be fired & charged.
Outrageous! Horribly, evil acting police who need to go to prison!!!
My daughter screamed at me because it was so upsetting! My daughter was traumatized just seeing it for a second!!
This kills me inside watching it. As a mother and human being, I hope this woman gets justice for her and her children.
Then they ask why people don’t trust the police. Imagine being a child and going through this. You’ll never trust law enforcement after this.
These cops are earning the hate, one traumatized family at a time.
That’s the thing. Its not just after this. Black people have been sharing these stories with each other for generations now. Its just that now they have video proof and its making people face the uncomfortable truths about our country. Btw, I think that male officer was trying to help, I just don’t know if this is lack of training or archaic policies. But either way there is no reason for cooperating “suspects” to be handcuffed face down on the pavement like that. Especially if they’re kids.
If this family was white, they’d be sitting on the van, being given water and sent on their way!! WOW!!
Maybe fries and milk shakes, too.
Sue him and the department and state he represents.
the footage made me cry. Two hours laying on the pavement? Thats disgusting. There is no way to justify this child abuse. Even if the woman committed a crime handcuffing the children is insane.
Such a shame! These cops need to be arrested for at least abuse against children! Fired and barred from any law enforcement job.
CPS should be doing home visits on every cop that was on the scene. Anyone who would do that to children should not be allowed to be in power over anyone.
This is disgusting and these police should be fired immediately.
