An army of users from the social media platform Reddit is turning the stock market on its head, in what the Verge calls quote, “an online tug of war.” Regular people – using apps that allow them to make trades directly without going through a financial advisor – are pumping cash into companies that Wall Street usually bets against. New York Times Columnist and Co-Anchor of CNBC's Squawk Box, Andrew Ross Sorkin, joins Katy Tur with more. Aired on 01/27/2021.

I mean i guess the question should be is how many shorts are getting squeezed
Cool, reveal the stock market for the bastardized thing that it has become.
“He who sells what isn’t isn’t, must buy back or go to prison” GME & AMC 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
It’s going up. People are panicking because of a dip during market close. Remember how much GME went up after it crashed down?
@Alex’s Gmail keep spreading the word! They’re censoring this kind of chat. We now know what power the people have when they unify via GameStop. Now it’s time to expose them even more for capitalizing off our backs for ages 💪🏼😈 AMC TO THE MOOOOOON
This will mess up the whole market, GOOD!
Re transfer of wealth to the people!
Investment Funds have all of the advantages and they make their money by screwing retail investors. Now they lose one small battle and are crying for more advantages.
This happens everyday , Wallstreet just shocked that it is happening to them 😢💔
The rich have been doing this for decades. It’s time to let them have the taste of their own medicine
Who cares? The U.S. business community is singlehandedly defunding democracy, and have been for decades.
Let’s go boys!, let’s pay those student loans!,
🤣🤣
It’s not about making money. It’s about proving what a scam the stock market really is.
It’s also about showing how un-democratic the market is.
dude, everybody with power that has a wide audience knew this, it’s us the public that recently realized that the manipulation is happening that way, it’s always been a scam
This is what happened if we stop focusing on our differences and fight the real enemy!!!!!
Robinhood: Steal from the rich, give to the poor 👍📈
Perfect
It turns out that when the little guys put their fists together they can punch up so high that it gives wallstreet a black eye.
One punch
Sadly, the hedge funds will just wait until the bubble bursts, and then it will be the every day people who got in late on this who will lose their money.
@Ro G they shut down Reddit chat lol and they’re restricting free speech all around cause they’re terrified of our power in numbers. These comments are next to go. A majority of us unified by communicating and exposing this 1% for their true greed… we are in this.. We are buying and holding until we squeeze all the hard working money that they have capitalized off our backs!!! We are the captain now
AMC $250 by Friday watch 😈
@cody greear lol
@cody greear certain channels are acting weird also, even RH acting weird , will flicker to diff numbers for fractions of a second like WAY diff numbers , smells like manipulation to me , but it would get found out , bc reddit holds some pretty smart people who are fairly good with computers and they would uncover it eventually
Sorkin looks like he is going to cry LOL Was he short on game stop or just sad for his billionaire friends? LMAO
He’s an absolute stooge. They always veil this BS regulation under the guise of “protecting” us. Reality is, the big guys got played, if no one sells, the big guys lose. Once I’m in on AMC, I’m holding, and I’ll continue to hold. It’s not about money for me anymore, it’s about equalizing the imbalance created by the shorts.
Sorkin’s statement at the end is bizarre and irresponsible: he conflated overheated trading with expansionary fiscal policy. That is just ignorance.
Wall Street is just upset someone is doing to them instead of them doing it to the Main Street. I hope those who are driving up the price wins and takes Wall Street to the cleaners
This can go to stupid numbers… I love that real working people actually got t to the 1%!!! Movies will be made, books will be wrote, stories will be told about these couple days and week to come. I would not be shocked if it hit $250 Friday. Everyone is unifying to expose the wealthy Wall Street giants. We have proof it worked w GME! We can burry them and redistribute this wealth in our own communities!!! AMC TO THE MF MOOOOON
Is not about the money is about taking down headgefund crook!!
✊🏽💯
These people are great, these short selling scum are paying for their crimes now. LOL
“The likely losers are not going to be the hedge funds…”
AMC 🚀 🚀 🌙
If the current price holds, the billionaire hedge fund will lose 10 billion dollars. Good job everyone.
Let’s pay off our student loans, medical debt, mortgages, rent, bills, and any other debt!! $AMC $GME
Rumor going around that Elon will be bringing AMC Theaters to the moon!
He is stuttering out of excitement cause he probably grabbed himself some shares
