All roads out of Hope are closed. Nobody seems to be pointing out that the lower mainland is isolated.
That’s pretty dangerous considering if it starts flooding on a larger scale.
No way out if a huge tidal surge pushes ocean water into land after a underwater landslide, volcano or earthquake.
Vancouver would be like escape from New York when that happens!
Not someone I’d want as my mayor.

Road companies love this, not only can they make money fixing roads but they purposely build highways with poor water drainage to cut costs. This just makes a “business”
All roads are engineered.
There are no road companies but the contractors that build roads build the roads to exacting specifications of the engineers.
Otherwise they don’t get paid.
