Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s poisoning and arrest under Vladimir Putin's government have inspired a large social movement in Russia, as well as diplomatic pushback from the US and multiple European nations. Over the last few weeks, Russian police have detained thousands of pro-Navalny protestors. Navalny’s Chief of Staff, Leonid Volkov, joins Chris Jansing to discuss. Aired on 2/8/2021.

Putin Critic Alexei Navalny's Chief Of Staff On Russian Political Suppression | Ayman Mohyeldin
Biden Administration needs to increase sanctions against Putin and his crony oligarchs.
@Crimdor Not true, just use your Googler.
@Chris_P_Bacon – you were already wrong about the reason b-1 bombers where sent to Norway so….
@Crimdor I didn’t say it was over Navalny. It was a message to Putin that a new sherriff is in town. No more grovelling from Trump.
@Chris_P_Bacon – or it’s a move to deploy the army, which aren’t very Eco friendly, to a region with ice caps to further the problem of climate change, so they can make a stronger argument to go green, even though their own administration is making it worse on purpose.
@Crimdor you won’t get a proper argument from a leftists FYI
Folks are fighting for democracy across the planet…including here in the US.
I believe this also.Sadly nothing is getting solved or comprised.People are picking up guns and shouting foul language and conspiracy theories.stay safe.😷✌
@Penny Sutch when is real its not cospiracy anymore
Yeah I and the other 70M Americans don’t want Biden and his Chinese style establishment to destroy free speech and democracy.
I can not even survive an allergy attack. Navalny survives chemical poisoning and prison, looks mildly irritated.
He’s a Russian, Russians survive pretty much anything.
Putin could move to North Korea!
He can take trump with him!
Life is a series of meetings and partings…hello Alexei and goodbye Putin!!
Goodbye AlexCIA.
Putin: Jails political critics and stages sham elections to remain in power.
Dolt 45: Lacks the balls to do the same.
Trump isn’t President anymore. Get over your TDS little foreigner
@Maximilian Houk You imbeciles call it TDS… when in All Actuality, it is Reality. I wish you a gentle and complete return to reality.
Putin who?
MAY GOD HELP ALL YOU RUSSIANS WHO ARE FIGHTING FOR WHAT IS RIGHT WHICH IN YOUR CASE IS NOT TO BE RULED OR DOWNTRODDEN BY ONE MAN (PUTIN)
We decide what is right.
Not some overseas super power with nuclear weapons threatening us into submission.
We are safe with Putin.
He was trained well as Homeland Security officer. (KGB)
Wish these folks luck. Fighting Fascism is a dangerous activity in that country.
🐞🏴🐞
The US was headed that way Frump and his tards
Just imagine if our US politicians had a quarter of the courage that Navalny has.
Quarter is giving republicans credit that they don’t reserve it’s more like 1% . Republicans are useless.
Navralny sure is 50 times more popular in US than he is in Russia.
In Russia 50% hate him with a vengeance.
48 % simply don’t like him.
2 % support this scam artist.
Take him and make him your Senator or something.
We can do a prisoner exchange.
Give us Assange.
Everyone is Navalny.
He is an American hero.
@Al 72 I wish you a gentle and complete return to reality.
Maybe they’ll be room for Putin in Mar-a-Lago? Navalny sure has a lot of courage. Perhaps Russia would finally like a new leader?
It wouldn’t be palatable for Putin to kiss the ring of Trump at Mar-a-Lago… It won’t be palatable for Trump to kiss Putin’s ring, neither (Trump won’t move to Russia)… This is the corner the dictators run themselves into…. To shrivel and die among their bodyguards, or from the crowds of desperate people
No, thank you.
We will keep Putin.
Make Navralny American Senator or something.
Put Putin Jon in and trump on an island let the take turns playing king.
Navalny kind of looks like James Bond
He is a Western spy after all.
I’m not going to pretend that I know what is going on in the Russian political atmosphere, but what I do know is that no leader (Vladimir Putin in this case) should not hold power for as long as he has. There needs to be limits.
If you say so.
Who are we, the people of Russia to argue with American masters.
In other words, non of your business, America.
@Al 72 Oh yea, let’s just pretend the non-existence of criminal Putin’s political repression of the political dissidents and opposition to remain dictator without viable challenge so he never has to debate his opposition.
@Jason PK
BS
Putin can debate anyone. His political IQ is 200.
But people receiving foreign support have no right to meddle in Russian politics.
US openly pays for Navralny daughter very expensive Stanford education.
@Al 72 The criminal Putin is a dictator, and as such he has protected himself from having to debate any bono fide opposition leader, Navalny included.
Russians will soon be out of this darkness 🙏🙏🙏.
Russians were lead out of the darkness of Yeltsin- the American puppet.
Putin has saved us.
Mr. Alexei Navalny reminds me of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, the writer, who penned, The Gulag Archipelago. One of the best books I’ve ever read. He once stated that, “A state of war only serves as an excuse for domestic tyranny.” Putin is at war with nearly the entire world because of his aggression.
What Russian aggression ??
Gulags don’t exist anymore.
America is 100 times worse.
Killing millions of foreigners and jailing people in Guantanamo.
Globalists strikes again
Four years later……….they have RETURNED!!!
Politican? Fun, clowns.
It’s time to sanction russia till they free navalny!!
