Roseau, Dominica – September 22, 2008……. Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Social Security and Foreign Affairs, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit is now in the United States to participate in the 63rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations, His Excellency, Crispin Gregoire, the Prime Minister will participate in the General Debate of the 63rd Session of the General Assembly in New York on Friday, September 26, 2008 between 5pm and 6pm.
The Prime Minister is also expected to participate in the High-level Meeting on the Millennium Development Goals on Wednesday, September 24, 2008.
The theme for the 63rd Session is “The Food Crisis and the democratisation of the United Nations”.
While in the United States, Hon. Skerrit will also hold a Town Hall Meeting in New York.
The Prime Minister’s delegation in the United States includes Minister for Public Utilities, Energy and Ports, Hon. Charles Savarin, Parliamentary Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Petter St. Jean and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Steve Ferrol.
In the absence of Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit from the State, Minister for Housing, Lands and Telecommunications, Hon. Reginald Austrie is acting as Prime Minister.
