President Trump, mourners to pay respects to Ginsburg during second day of viewing

President Donald Trump will join hundreds of mourners at the Supreme Court on Thursday to pay his respects to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a liberal icon who died last week after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump are expected to make the trip from the White House to the Supreme Court, where the 87-year-old justice will lie in repose for a second day, even as Trump is preparing for a bruising confirmation fight over her successor.

Hundreds of mourners filed past Ginsburg’s flag-draped coffin on Wednesday, including former President Bill Clinton, who appointed Ginsburg to the court in 1993, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who likely would have named Ginsburg's successor had she won the presidency in 2016.

  1. What a sad state of affairs we have currently. While I’m happy that POTUS finally has to listen to what half the country feels about him, there is also a level of decency we have lost the past 4 years.

    1. Democrats on steroids have engaged in similar behavior far before that. The boos and catcalls that accompanied Republican politicians at the memorial service for Democratic Senator Wellstone in 2002 was an example of that.

    2. @ZorbaTheDutch Biden called inner cities racial jungles and supported laws keeping whites and blacks seperate. That really happened. One is much, much more horrendous than the other.

  2. Perennially disingenuous USA Today won’t show the hysterical crowd yelling the anti Trump slogans because they resemble too closely the zombied Red Guard kids of the Chinese Cultural Revolution chanting in a trance slogans calling for the elimination of people Jiang Qing (Mao’s wife and a precursor of Nancy Pelosi) branded “enemies of the people.” Personally, every time I see those zombies I think how important it is to vote against putting our local totalitarian Maoists into office, especially since they promise our own Cultural Revolution.

BTW Ginsburg may have been an advocate for the rights and privileges of various minorities but a defender of the freedom of speech and conscience she was not. Those who dare not to accept the leftist precepts on abortion, marriage, and other matters would not be afforded the right to live by their deeply held beliefs in public life and could even be prosecuted with their business taken away from them. Ginsburg’s totalitarian streak may appeal to leftist fascists but it would be dangerous to have a clone of hers on the SCOTUS bench.

  3. China be like:
    “Mission Accomplished ”
Not only divided but no morals at all!
Looks like 30 people dictate to the vast majority

  4. So sad 😞 Ruth Bader deserves better than this!! I believe there is a place and time to express all your anger towards the president.
