Fauci would seem to have a vested interest in seeing a Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine not only come to fruition but be the only medical treatment option available to Americans, even though success against the pandemic is already being seen with hydroxychloroquine, for instance, a malaria drug that costs just a few cents per dose.

With an extremely high daily increase rate around 96k, opening up the economy at these circumstances, will be a fatal mistake ! Plateauing the curve at this level shows that America does not have it under control at all !… European countries with much lower increase rates are considering to gradually opening up the economy.

@nolies rebuild It is worth it. It wont be forever. If you dont enact restrictions how many people dying because those restrictions are not in place is too many? You wanna make that call? Be smart, be safer as a state for a month. That is how I look at it. When restrictions are lifted after the virus is better tracked, better contained, and people who are sick treated in “isolation”, etc, watch how the economy grows. It only makes sense, IMO.
I think Trump acted foolishly by not taking the problem more seriosuly in the beginning, but he is doing the right thing now. Listen to the experts before reopening the economy. Let’s hope it happens before the start of the summer for everybody’s sake. People are safe, let’s hope. If that happens economy will grow and Trump gets reelected. If he mishandles it opening up businesses, lifting restrictions too soon, he will be remembered as an inept president who cost Americans their lives. He must realize this. I dont know how it will play out, but I think if he enacts restrictions now, he will get reelected. If many more people die when ignoring experts he will never get reelected.
Politics. Listen to the experts, in summer reopen economy by slowly lifting restrictions. Talk in an empathetic manner about people who lost their lives and the families who grieve, explain how you had to enact restrictions to save lives. Economy will be in a growth phase by November (let’s hope). President gets reelected. If many more die while ignoring the experts he has zero chance of getting reelected.
