ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Several persons are assisting the police with their investigation into the robbery at Dee’s Service Station and the subsequent killing of an attendant.
One of these has been declared a person of interest. Yesterday, police recovered the green Nissan Almera motorcar believed to have been the getaway vehicle in Friday night’s robbery and killing.
Residents reported seeing the lawmen towing the car from the Cassada Gardens area yesterday at about 4:30 pm.
Police Commissioner Vere Browne confirmed the investigators are examining the vehicle as part of the probe in the country’s first murder for 2012.
However, The Daily OBSERVER has been reliably informed that the vehicle was stripped of its tint and appeared to have been thoroughly cleaned.
Commissioner Browne thanked the public for working along with the police in an effort to solve the crime.
Attendant Dorothy Prince [Dominican from Grand Fond] was gunned down during the robbery executed by four individuals. The assailants robbed the service station of $5,200.
Sources said none of the workers resisted the robbers who opened fire as they were fleeing the scene.
