BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 5TH 2012 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has sent messages of congratulations to three colleagues in the Caribbean whose nations recently celebrated independence anniversaries.
“On behalf of the Government and people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, I extend best wishes to you, the Government and People of the Commonwealth of Dominica on this your Thirty-Fourth Anniversary of Independence,” said Dr. Douglas to his Dominica colleague, the Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit.
“As Dominicans at home and in the Diaspora continue ‘partnering for further progress and development’ your fellow Caribbean brothers and sisters in St. Kitts and Nevis have you in our prayers. During this period of celebratory activities in recognition of this distinguished moment in Dominica’s history, it is my hope that this will be a time for reflection and appreciation of the unique culture that symbolizes your country,” said Dr. Douglas in his message.
“I pray for your continued strength as well as prosperity for the people of your country as you continue your progressive policies to revitalize and advance the Commonwealth of Dominica. I wish to acknowledge the many sterling contributions the Commonwealth of Dominica has made in the Caribbean region over the years, and I hope that the well established ties of mutual respect, friendship and cooperation between our two countries will be maintained,” added Prime Minister Douglas.
The St. Kitts and Nevis leader in his message to the Prime Minister Dr. The Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, the Government and citizens of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Douglas noted the milestone of the Thirty-third Anniversary of Independence.
“Comrade, as you and your fellow Vincentians go about your activities celebrating Vincentian national pride, it is my ardent wish that this moment of reflection on the past and future of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, will inspire and renew their commitment to the overall progress and development of their beloved country.”
“I also take this opportunity to affirm the close reciprocal friendship shared by our countries as we collaborate to promote the Region and its people even when faced with the unpredictability of financial and geopolitical world affairs,” Dr. Douglas told his Vincentian colleague.
In his message to Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Baldwin Spencer, the St. Kitts and Nevis leader extended best wishes on that nation’s 31st Anniversary of Independence.
“As you celebrate this landmark occasion in the history of your country, I pray for continued strength as well as prosperity for the people of your country in these challenging and capricious times. As you continue your leadership of the people of Antigua and Barbuda, I sincerely wish that God’s blessings will maintain influence over all your present and prospective accomplishments,” said Prime Minister Douglas.
