In the last economic crisis … I had worked 4 jobs, did another half day voluntary training, slept just a few mere hours over nearly 3 straight days .. whatever I could get my hands on that 1 week … and still put on a cool smile.
And continued 2 jobs for 1.7 years … n kept my kidz in 2 universities ( 1 kiddo for 6 years overseas n another for 5 local-overseas pastime program, respectively.
Today , the latter was just back for another 3 years overseas paid fee n then Covid hit …but I had dug deep into financial planning, sold my used old 20 + years car …used a 15 year old 2nd hand mbike until scrapped n lots of Cycling for small errand etc and doing fine, without a job.
And still smiling …

Not as a judgement as in so and so should be humbled. It adds to their appreciation of a situation that cannot be fully controlled. And we all need lessons. And experiencing a bout with this nasty virus is a hard one, as is having a loved one go through it. I completely get that so many millions of people have suffered and it is heartbreaking. Trump issued the first travel restrictions on January 31st, right around the same time the NYT and WP were calling coronavirus no big deal and the flu was far worst. Also the same time Pelosi was introducing a bill that would have prevented Trump from issuing any further travel restrictions.
