@LulaMae21 Wrong. There won’t be any survivors if too much time has passed. If they had worked fast enough they could have possibly saved more people who didn’t get killed. A human can only go 7 days without water at most. 6 days have passed. There’s probably no one alive now. And if they are they’ll be dead by the end of tomorrow.

My heart ache’s for these families sad to say it but finding someone alive in all that mess is slim to none.

Bruh permits are not bribes and building permits are check by 3rd parties and local regulators so bribery for inspection permits is super super unlikely. Not to mention why would any inspector take a bribe when they make bonuses if they find problems

I see why no one wants to say this has turned into a recovery mission but I can’t imagine more than a few people being pulled out alive at this point. I hope those who perished did so quickly and haven’t suffered for long. Blood on the hands of those who ignored the warnings and delayed the “critical repairs” until it was too late.

On June 24, 2021 a twelve story condominium named Champlain in Surfside, Florida suddenly fell in a burning smoldering ruin. The names and numbers of dead are not fully known now. Soon following came reports that the structural integrity of the construction had for three years been known to be dangerous. The inspectors were there. The engineers were there. They saw the damage. They reported it. The knew the consequences of the exponential increase in damage if left that way. They reported it. The only response to the reports seems to have been ignorance. Ignorance is not good policy. It had its costs and claimed lives in all ages. If you think education is expensive, try ignorance. The hellish spectacle now presented to us was preventable. A look at history provides thousands of examples of preventable man-made disasters.
In fact, there is a history of natural and man-made disasters. One begins with the origin of the universe.There are interesting facts in this history. One fact is many thousands of preventable man-made disasters have happened worldwide and continue to happen. There is no end of them in sight. In most incidents security and safety regulations were ignored. Sure, those in charge knew what to do and how and when to do it. That was all well and good, but the crux of the matter was they neglected to do it. Catastrophic consequences ensued.
The shuttle explosion in 1986 off east coastal Florida made history after an engineer warned of defective O-rings, and advised them to cancel the launch for further inspection. The Johnstown flood in Pennsylvania happened because they neglected to maintain a dam. In Beirut, Lebanon they stored ammonium nitrate fertilizer in large quantities. It was kept in dangerous conditions inside a major city.The authorities were warned numerously of the precariousness. Indifference and ignorance were the answer to that. And another blood-drenched article for the story of mankind. The attacks of September 11, 2001 came after years of explicit detailed warnings. It was an English teacher in South Korea in 1997 who had extensive intelligence on the who, where, when, how and what would happen in Washington and New York. Again another valuable windfall for prevention was disregarded as meaningless. Law enforcement did not forward information to the FBI. The law required it. It was ignored. Not long ago 78,000 people died in an earthquake in the People’s Republic of China. It was reported a large number were killed in buildings of substandard construction. They had not built to code, and everybody knew it.There was the mass murder of 17 students at a high school in Parkland, Florida about 3 years ago, and the wounding of 17 other students. That horrific misfortune came after 39 warnings to police and sheriffs, and 6 to the FBI. A category 5 hurricane tore its way east to west across the Atlantic ocean in the early 1900s. It headed toward the gulf of Mexico. Cuba had an eye on it for quite a while.They contacted the authorities in Florida and elsewhere. They warned extreme weather would make landfall in gulf coastal Texas or Louisiana. The warnings were disregarded. They did not forward the information. It struck full-tilt in Galveston killing about 2000 people. It went north and killed 6000 more. It made its way to Canada, turned left, crossed Alaska and the Bering Strait. It blew out in Siberia. When asked why they had not heeded the warnings, they said they did not trust the Cubans and communists.
Many thousands of preventable mass killings are recorded. Many that were not prominent are not commonly known. Whether they were recent and widely broadcast, lesser known or forgotten and lost forever in the sands of time, willful negligence and indifference were the causes, horrific suffering and death were the affects.

I think the person they found alive, died at the hospital so no one alive and I think everyone is dead, 5 days going into 6. Unfortunately, I can’t see anyone being able to make it out since no food or water plus all the injuries.

I hope that the rescue workers are not over exposed to toxins — chemicals, respirated particulates, etc. What a tragedy. IF I were living in a nearby building, I would be mighty uncomfortable…imagine those left in the units that were not destroyed! Suddenly at the mercy of FEMA housing. Wow.
These were units that sold for $1.5++ MILLION dollars..they are not the ones at the mercy of FEMA housing..this was vacation housing for some, not all or many but still the owners of these units, the ones left, have the means $$$ to go rent a place temporary such as down at the Breakers or the Fountain Blue or just buy another home while waiting for insurance money but yea these aren’t the ones that would be at the mercy of FEMA…I’m sure they have plenty of reserves $$$ in the bank..let’s just hope they were not the type to hoard all their cash inside the home as it’s gone now!
Concrete and rebar construction has significant structural issues. When this construction method fails serious injury or death can occur.

Just imagine how this scene is. There are 12 massive stories, pancaked ontop each other, ontop of that the section that collapsed was a very large section, and now think about 150 people possibly are in between each of these floors, this will take a very long time to get through. This is absolutely crazy of a situation to deal with and try to fathom. So sad 😪
Comparing this to the WTC is like comparing apples to oranges. They’re both fruit at the end of the day (both buildings collapsed as an end result), but the manner of beginning, time to collapse, manner of collapse, time to escape are vastly different.

The sad and disturbing thing is that a lot of these human remains won’t really be readily identifiable as such. However many tons of concrete coming crashing down on you results in not so much as a corpse for retrieval but a red smear to be scooped into a bag.
I sincerely hope whomever kept putting off repairs for this building are brought up on charges. There are 150 dead people’s families whom I presume want justice.
At least you know those who were flattened like a pancake, died instantly..
The most horrifying part would be recovering remains of the ones who likely survived the initial collapse..
Unless I had enough space to freely move my arms and legs..

It has been 5 days now. I think 6 days is the max a human can go without food.
This is so tragic for all of the families involved. This shouldn’t happen in this day and age and this type of human error is avoidable. I haven’t seen any evidence yet that it could be considered a natural disaster.
