I hate having to do that, but they gave us no choice. There should be great candidates from many parties, but the GOP is so bad that we must do what needs to be done.
Today the Republican Party is a criminal political cult obssessed with power and greed, and to achieve their two priorities, they will do anything, and I mean ANYTHING..
Since 2016, we have witnessed a test of the depths to which the Republican Party will sink. How much corruption, how much collusion with foreign powers and betrayal of the national interest will that party’s elected representatives stand for? Well the results of that test are abundantly clear, shocking, and horrifying: There is no bottom.
The GOP is now a thoroughly corrupt party. Trump is a symptom, not the disease, and our democracy will remain under threat even if and when he’s gone.
The corruption we see in the Republican party today can be defined as institutional depravity. It isn’t an occasional failure to uphold norms, but a consistent repudiation of them. It isn’t about dirty money so much as the pursuit and abuse of power—power as an end in itself, justifying almost any means.
The modern GOP as a whole, is overwhelmingly corrupt, and dominated by fanaticals and extremists. Anyone imagining that Trump being defeated in November will lead to a moral awakening, or that republicans will return to democratic political norms once Trump is gone, is living in a fantasy world.
Republicans have chosen suppression and authoritarianism, because unlike the Dems, their party isn’t a coalition of interests in search of a majority. The Republican party isn’t interested in what the majority of Americans want. The Republican party doesn’t even hide it’s contempt for the American people.
The big question is whether America as we know it can long endure when one of its two major parties has effectively rejected the principles on which our nation was built.

What I need to find out, is what can I do- something concrete, to help this situation, as well as address this whole issue of what the republican party has become.

Dustin V : I’m pretty certain that a GRU agent got his software into the voting technology (on sight!) in Florida. But, anyone who tries to whistleblow has been warned that they’ll go to jail, under Bush’s Anti-Terror legislation, so there’s been a black out on that. But, they never did tell us if they even got that software out again? Let alone how many counties were infected, etc? All we know is that Donny took up residence within weeks of that story breaking and then launched his Campaign from there. And, the fact that he said that even mail in ballots were the one exception that would be reliable; IN FLORIDA, should have set off everyone’s alarms. This election is rigged at EVERY LEVEL. But, we’ll only ever know the truth if we VOTE THEM OUT! ✌️
Dustin V : You can help get the vote out; join your local representatives, find out what they need from volunteers and VOLUNTEER. You can video any shenanigans you see (from a safe distance) and live stream it, in case you, “lose,” your camera somehow. There’s a lot you can DO. Depending on how strongly you feel about this, last stand of the Republic?
I don’t think GOP’s objective is to know the results as they already believe they are going to lose. Their objective is to lend sway to Trump’s desired objective to sabotage the election, even at the expense of Republican voters.
Yes, but in reality, the result of such actions by the republicans will be chaos and stolen votes as well. I do NOT necessarily believe THEY expect to LOSE either! Look at the success of their gerrymandering! This is a 6-alarm fire, I am so shocked that this is “a plan” how … filthy and disgusting.

This is Florida 2000 taken to its extreme. When the count got too close and was being re-done, the (R)s complained of the delay while simultaneously filing court briefs to SLOW IT DOWN. They succeeded in running out the clock for certifying the election result and having SCOTUS overrule the FLA Supreme Court’s order to finish counting. In 2020, the state (R)s are planning to: 1) muck up the counting until the certification deadline; 2) select replacement EC electors whom they will instruct to vote for Trump, and if that isn’t enough; 3) send the decision to the US House of Representatives for a state-by-state vote.
Each one of these moves is being considered b/c the (R)s don’t think Trump can win by counting all of the votes. This is how the modern Republican party rolls. Mitch McConnell refused to give Merrick Garland a hearing precisely b/c he thought Garland might get enough votes for confirmation. The “last year of a president’s term” rationale was BS; if he though he had the “No” votes to defeat the nomination, he’d have done it and avoided all the bad press that the (R)s have gotten. Amy Barrett’s nomination wouldn’t be saddled with Mitch’s hypocrisy today.
The (R)s are doing exactly what they charge the (D)s of doing – defrauding the voters.
Wow, many Americans are crying be afraid of “Socialism”, but should be aware of Communism happening right in front of their eyes.

@RogerWilco It is, but I believe they may be referring to Russian origin. The Truman Doctrine refers to Communism, and the concern was the Soviet Union. Our threat has come from the same source.

Yes. This is either how the Republic died, or how we saved it, at the very final hour. And, it will be so much worse than the last 4 years. No restraint, no shame, and not even the pretence of Democratic, “values,” will be left. The media will be taken from us, and we’ll be left with a controlled, pale shadow, like those of China and Russia, in which comments like mine will never get through, or be read by any American. Oligarchs will take over and the companies that own CNN and MSNBC, etc, will face government backed hostile takeovers.
