Two months ago he announced he won’t run in the Oct 2022 election.
Stepping down at this point will just create whatever processes that will cost taxpayers.
He is not in charge of the police. They act on their own. Period.

The chief’s resignation likely had more to do with not wanting to deal with the unreasonable expectations of his position in that situation ever again, and probably had nothing to do with “doing the right thing” in regards to his percieved failure.
And we all act surprised…like we didn’t know this was coming. “Conspiracy theorists” they screamed!!
