September 30 is reserved to honour the survivors of residential schools. Creeson Agecoutay has more on the importance of Orange Shirt Day.

CTV News is Canada's most-watched news organization both locally and nationally, and has a network of national, international, and local news operations.
My grandmother R.I.P went though that.
She never talked about it.
Because nobody at the time thought it anything remotely odd or improper.
A very tragic chapter in Canada’s history. We need to acknowledge, heal and reconcile with the Indigenous peoples of Canada.
Maybe John A Mac Donald shouldn’t have built residential schools hmm?
@Julie Gill Maybe you need to stop believing in conspiracy theories and dismiss past atrocities you nutcase.
@Julie Gill No, he totally should have
No. I will not “acknowledge” the lie that Residential Schools were at all bad. Therefore there’s nothing to “reconcile”.
These are true Canadians who have been abused in the worst way! For this I am embarrassed and ashamed of my country
👍100%!!
JOYCE ECHAQUAN 💜✌️ 🌎
(Of course stupids!!)
THEY ARE THE REAL OWNERS OF THIS LAND!!💪
And from the states as well!
Thank you
And yet after this atrocity, liberals want to empower the government that carried it out.
Why would all these teachers sign up to teach in residential schools with the purpose of torturing children?
That’s a question you’d have to pose to them.
Because no “torture of children” took place
@albertannationalist Post your evidence fractured fairy tales are not factual.
@Donnie Thomas Nothing that took place in these boarding schools differed at all from boarding schools across the Empire.
Corporal punishment was common and I won’t apologize for that. No contemporary accounts denounced Residential Schools and Indians themselves fought a half century ago to keep them
@Donnie Thomas Maybe they should have been part of the hearings. Maybe they should have been asked to testify. It is a missing part of this.
Sick, sick and sick. You don’t exploit children to air your grievances.
How is this any different than a rememberance day ceremony? We teach children about all sorts of things and involve them in related activities.
And you should never teach them lies.
@albertannationalist what lies?
this is such a disgrace….to allow the perpetrators remain untouched by legal requirements, while at the same time forcing all to conform to the new norm even though so so many had nothing to do with this. human civilization at its best i tell you; 2020 style still. the populace always seems to pay the price and have to deal with repercussions due to the criminal afflictions of them government affiliates.
