congratulations?
Did anyone see this coming??
Not at all. 😱
You mean “everyone”, except of course any level of government.
@Russell Zacharias I didnt see it coming & i am not government
It’s part of the Marxist plan to end private property. The landlords will gladly give up the properties because they won’t be able to pay the taxes and utilities and maintenance and repairs.
This way will pull down the economy in the long run. A government needs to CREATE WEALTH, not TRANSFER WEALTH.
Syed Rizvi If it continues much longer I foresee violence.
@FaithwalkerTodd In BC, the BC NDP forced landlords to rent out their properties with cheap price, if not will be punished with empty-home-tax, but refused to set a law to protect landlords from bad tenants, like the no-eviction in Toronto. This kind of attitude will lead to nowhere, it’s Hugo Chavez’s stuff. Whatever you guys do in Toronto, never voted for NDP, unless you are a beggar who is waiting for money falling from the sky.
@BLT govt’ never ever create wealth. No disrespect, but they don’t and never will.
@MJM Do you own property?.
All rentals will have to be run by the government. Only the government can afford to skip rent for a year and a half. Regular private landlords cannot afford that.
Need lovely 😍💋 💝💖❤️
dont fall for their whining and crying guys. these leeches just want to make the easiest job in the world even easier.
buy a house then and see how easy it is
Clearly shows how uneducated/inexperienced in owning a rental property you are; its not as easy as you make it out to be, especially if you are a small renter (1 rental). In order to to have an second property to rent most take an huge investment risk/gamble by taking loans/mortgages, so that they can get an sublimental income through rent, and the potential rise in property value.
Renters and rentees can both be leeches, renters if they don’t fix up or maintain the units, and rentees if they don’t maintain the unit or pay there rents.
I have 7 rental properties across toronto, make 30k+. Stfu
@swagg wad my message was for MJM not for you, If you read it through you would have noticed that. Congrats on owning 7 rental properties, must have taken a bit of time; houses or condos?
Speaking of leeches,
Hello MJM
In BC, the NDP says that landlords are speculators or house flippers, who earn benefit on people’s suffer, and must be punished with hefty taxes.
NDP says that? Show me a source. Show me anything where the are quoted to say that. Who said it. Dont make a comment like that unless you can show the date time and place someone from
the ndp said that.
@Effortless Awareness actions speak louder then words. Never had to say it. Read a receipt.
@Effortless Awareness I’m a homeowner in Vancouver and I am being grabbed by NDP. Many NDP politicians repeatedly said that the taxes were meant for house flippers and speculators, in reality it’s meant for homeowners like me, who only own one home and the whole family live in it. The fact about house flippers in BC now, they moved to cheaper homes that NDP spared from the penalties (so-called taxes), making entry level homes more expensive and mansions cheaper. So BC NDP is actually helping mansion-hunters from Asia. They say, “XIE XIE NDP”.
Great now we can all be poor! Stop smoking weed BC. You need a cold blooded Conservative to lower your taxes, imprison criminals and RULE YOU LIKE A KING!
This incident is unfortunate however I am a longtime tenant and I take care of my apt even though it’s not mine and I can tell you my landlord doesn’t care about doing repairs properly they do the bare minimum. They don’t care bc it’s an investment property. It’s applauding learning from LTB all the rules he has broken already
Move out if you don’t like your apt. This is how things work.
@sommebuddy extremely tough to do IF the vacancy rate is less than 2% generally and far less in some income brackets
@Russell Zacharias Buy then…
Others say… governments are using lockdowns to reset the financial system.
Conspiracy theories now…Last year you believed in the sasquatch.
@Effortless Awareness
It is never confirmed until it is officially denied.
🙂
You will believe in Sasquatch‘a when the bankers take your fiat denominated pension/savings.
Google… Marc Carney; Christine Lagarde; Augustan Carstens… and the great reset, as heralded by Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Club.
Welcome to the club. I love trolls.
@Effortless Awareness the great economic reset was on the cover of Time Magazine just days ago. They’re no longer hiding it and are now selling it
@Levon Tha Don Maybe you shoudl read the article you’re referencing instead of tying a headline to a conspiracy theory.
@David Liang I guess well ignore all the politicians and banksters calling for a reset around the world too
You could blame the obvious government policies, but I’m guessing that’s a “conspiracy theory”?
17 months? 🤔
As business owners, it is the responsibility of these property managers and owners to carry adequate insurance to cover losses.
And what is the responsibility of tenants?
@OmerTheGreatOne To abide by the contract they signed. One responsibility doesn’t negate the other. The idea of maximizing profits for a business without the responsibility to safeguard themselves opens up all business owners to liabilities without adequate protections. Insurance would solve this issue without wasting tax dollars.
Right. And when you don’t pay you’ve broken the contract. End of story.
@Kevin Yes, potentially but no, it’s not the end of the story as you put it. Let’s be clear, this isn’t about homeowners, these are businesses, and that distinction needs to be clear.
I am sooooo glad i got out of the landlord gig last year. WAY too stressful.
Well Duh
Only 17 months. Outrageous
Do they have a choice
What would you like them to do exactly ? Maybe the governments dream of U.B.I will kick in soon so everyone can mope around and waddle in uselessness.
Squatting with government approval too little too late like all the businesses that closed thinking they would be fined or arrested. All a big covid bluff and over reaction now little chance landlords or small creative retail will survive. So many biz owners too cool to protest or get shamed they lost everything. Like 80’s re structuring in a way.
2K a month and you cannot pay rent….something is wrong. you need a cheaper place to live.
WITH ALL THE MONEY THE GOVERNMENT GAVE OUT, TENANTS HAVE NO EXCUSE NOT TO HAVE PAID THEIR RENT.
