Police arrested a juvenile suspect after an hours-long shooting in Raleigh, North Carolina that left five dead and two injured.

Among the dead is an unidentified off-duty Raleigh Police Department officer, Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin said at a news conference late Thursday. Over an hour after police said they had contained the suspect in a residence in the area, Raleigh Police Department tweeted they had the suspect in custody.
Another Raleigh officer was one of the two people injured in the incident, Baldwin said. That officer, a K9 officer, did not have life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital Thursday night. The other person injured was in critical condition, Lt. Jason Borneo said. The suspect is a white male juvenile, Borneo said, but did not provide his age.
"All of us in Raleigh right now need to come together," Baldwin said. "We need to support those in our community who have suffered a terrible loss, a loss of a loved one." North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said multiple law enforcement agencies were responding to the incident. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in Charlotte said special agents were also responding.

Heartless Thoughts and prayers always ………..Too many people in drugs, too many people with mental health, too many people in frustration, too many people idolizing shootings and guns; America will never solve this issue of mass shootings and killings as far as guns are sold and purchased easily everywhere…Horrible !!!
Not again. Tragic. What has happened to the youth? Majority of those taking part in such acts are boys/young men between 15-25 years old. Time for parents, friends, family and school officials/staff to be far more vigilant when it comes to monitoring those among us who display signs of anger, frustration, depression, anxiety, hatred, victims of bullying/abuse, etc. Study after study has shown that one of the most common attributes has been childhood abuse and/or exposure to trauma. It’s difficult to believe that in many of these circumstances, the writing was not already on the wall before the mass shooting occurred, and nobody did anything meaningful about it. Very sad.
