The list keeps growing because any company or vendor or third party contractor who sells anything to anyone who can be considered essential, is now essential. It’s easier to just make a list of non-essential at this point. Restaurants and Bars LoL
It is funny how we now see that many ESSENTIAL workers are the minimum wage workers, like super market employees, etc

It is a scapegoat for them to take total control of our country. They are destroying the economy, killing the dollar and will force vaccinations soon. Our National Guard will hand everything over to the UN and FEMA unconsciously.

You want to talk about unfair?
Let’s double the minimum wage to $15.00 per hour. That comes out to $31,000.00 per year, just a few thousand dollars less than the starting salary for a certified Addictions Counselor. That certification requires 4,000 hours of client contact, 200 hours of classroom study, over 100 hours of Supervision. If you want to get ahead in this field, plan on getting a 4 year $40,000.00 degree in Social Work, Psychology, or some other helping profession. How is that equitable? Which occupation is more essential?
And here we were told they would never close the bridges I think that’s right around the corner

No. Most new yorkers have followed the recommendations. We don’t need such shutdowns. Plus there are essential workers coming from New Jersey and they are vital to keep essential jobs going.
There needs to be some clarification as to what constitutes a non-essential worker because I know several people who are being told by their bosses that they are considered essential even when they aren’t needed

Sounds like a burger flipping shelf stocker… Funny thing is everything you get is free during this time of crisis but yeah lets talk money being paid for kids and dropouts during an emergency!!! Glad doctors, police and firefighters dont just demand more money when deemed “essential”… Idk about you but im zero percent effected by people staying home from these self proclaimed hard essential jobs guess im missing the day i really needed something from a store and the employees were ohhh so happy to help me not turned away avoiding me yeah im sure they deserve more money for that…NOT!
Sunamer Z So when those 2-3 million “essential” jobs’ employees stop working, what happens to the other 323 million Americans? The jobs aren’t being done, so the services and goods can’t be rendered for the majority of other Americans. Should those who are deemed “essential” really be making less than a living wage? That’s not very respectful to a work-force who is told that they have to keep working during a pandemic. That’s just slavery for starvation wages. Stop being so anti-American by saying that “burger-flipping” or trash-collection should be undervalued when you say it’s essential. If it’s essential, then the federal government should be investing in the well-being and safety of personnel who are working these essential roles.

unfortunately, pay is determined by supply and demand like many other things. Those jobs are important but they are not in high demand, they are in stable demand. And the supply of qualified people who can fill the position are often higher than that stable demand, so they don’t usually get paid much.

Cuomo is possibly getting promises of campaign contributions from the communist controlled labor unions in NY.
Cuomo is exchanging one catastrophe for another of his own making as thousands of small family owned businesses will never recover and tens of thousands now out of work will end up in poverty. Oh well, at least the illegals in New York can now get drivers licenses and career criminals are going free because of his bail reform.

This is the first time in my life when being non-essential was a relief. I’m ordering food online and getting meat and fresh veggies delivered. I don’t feel invincible at all, but I’m in Michigan and New York is close enough for this to apply here, in my mind.
