Nina Turner Rips Moderate Call For Practicality: America Deserves Better | Velshi & Ruhle | MSNBC
“Every generation we got the nay sayers baby”
@Allex Gibbs Amazon doesn’t pay sales tax, the consumers do. You must really like the taste of boots if you think the American people should pay Amazon’s taxes for them.
@Keith Culton that’s not my point. The point is that taxes are generated for the government by amazon with its trillions of individual sales. And the consumer voluntarily pays that tax so no boot here. Also Amazon is taking advantage of tax code that has existed under multiple democratic presidents and democratic controlled congress and nothing was done. And nobody said a word about it till Trump becomes president. Hmmmm. It’s not like these tax codes popped up out of nowhere when Trump took office. Stop being childish.
@Allex GibbsPeople would consume no matter who the vendor is their size shouldn’t mean that we have to pay their taxes for them which is what you are saying. We pay sales tax on purchases so the business owner shouldn’t pay any taxes because we already paid them, that is a galaxy brained take. People have been talking about the corporate tax code since I have been politically aware. You are right that in the past democrats and republicans haven’t cared about it because they all take money from those companies, I’m guessing you don’t care either since you think the sales taxes you pay should cover Amazon’s share. Do you order your boot flavored smoothies from Amazon?
What I would tell you, if you did care about the egregious way that big corporations get away with out paying taxes, is that you should vote for the candidate that doesn’t take any corporate money because that person is the most likely to do something about it.
@Keith Culton trump is the only president in my memory to not need money from super pacs and corporations bc he had his own. If that means anything to you. You mistake me in that I think Amazon should pay taxes. But amazon being a virtually bodiless company is a HUGE exception. Microsoft. Sony. Apple. Nestle. General Electric. Walmart. All of those companies pay BILLIONS in taxes. Walmart alone in 2018 paid 3.2 BILLION in corporate income taxes. Is that no enough for you? Is amazon and it’s strange exception so upsetting to you that you miss the forest for the trees? No not even that. More like a single tree.
“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.”
―Elie Wiesel
“We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.”
―James Baldwin
“Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person’s ultimate good as far as it can be obtained.”
―C.S. Lewis
“Above all, we should bear in mind that our liberty is not an end in itself; it is a means to win respect for human dignity for all classes of our society.”
―Admiral H.G. Rickover, Father of the US Nuclear Navy
Excellent quotes Daniel!
Totally Agree!
Great quotes.
“FOR ALL CLASSES OF SOCIETY”!!!
Nina!! You go girl! Speak that progressive knowledge.
I remember a button fro my youth: “Be realistic. Demand the impossible”.
Robert McCulloch He have also said it himself. This does not end in him beeing elected president.
@olestokke The battle starts after he’s elected. He’s going to need the people to stand up for him then, just like he does now. Real change requires both insider and outsider power.
The Wright Brothers were so “unrealistic” they proclaimed that it is possible for men to fly. So in 1903, they invented a flying machine and called it an “Airplane”! In 1903 people said they were crazy! #BeUnreallistic
@Will Wright Even DaVinci knew that flight was possible, it was just a matter of the technology catching up. (Amusing post/user name combo, though.)
@olestokke Bernie taking the presidency is only the beginning. From there on out people need to hit the streets by the Millions. We need to take back Governor’s offices, mayor’s offices, and local city council positions all over the country. We need to pressure senators in the Congress and Senate, folks that are not voting for our legislation.
That means people in the streets marching with protest signs wherever they need to be. That means union leaders condemning on votes and organizing general strikes. That means Wildcat strikes.
The work only begins when Senator Sanders becomes president Sanders. This is exactly how FDR was able to be successful as well as elected four times in a row. He had the people on his side.
Back during the Civil Rights era JFK had a meeting with civil rights leaders. He told them: ‘I agree with everything Y’all are talking about’. He then proceeded to tell them; ‘In order to get any of it done, I need you applying pressure in the streets’.
“We gonna go ham on this system!” Bernie 2020
lol, love it
Steff know who she’s talking too? NINA TURNER
@unwishfulthink Well if the polls say it, it MUST BE TRUE!🙀🙀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@unwishfulthink crying over spilt milk. You just have a chip on your shoulder because Clinton lost. Get over it. It was 3 years ago, and he completed fair and square. What you wanted was a coronation for Hillary. You wanted her to get a special advantage with no competitors. That ain’t how life works at all. If you want equality you better compete equally
@C 546799 Yeah, poll says Bernie is in the lead so it must be true!
Ouch, they better leave Auntie Nina alone. #SheReady
@Marlene Stanius no it was the revelation that the DNC had rigged the primary funneling funds to Hillary and giving her the debate questions, etc…THAT is what turned off MANY voters…. The DNC’s bias backfired horribly and fed into all the disinformation about “Crooked Hillary” Bernie campaigned for Hillary even after finding out about the trickery.
@Marlene Stanius well, she resonates with me. What I have experienced, what I have studied, what she says, all Mirror each other.
And I like the way she speaks. It’s forceful and to the point. She is loud enough, and assertive enough that she can’t be overpowered by bluster.
Yes, honey!!! Ms. Nina was on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
*AUN-TIE NI-NA!!!* Child you better listen 😍
@Marlene Stanius Speaking of misinformed:15% of Clinton supporters voted for McCain in 2008, 12% of Sanders supporters voted for Trump in 2016; in 2008 Hillary actually said that McCain ‘was better qualified to be president than Obama, explaining that he would bring “his lifetime of experience” to the post while Obama would “put forth a speech he made in 2002.”’ Bernie never ever suggested Trump would make a better president than Hilary, now did he?
Be careful with black women, they are going to come out swinging for Bernie.
#AsianAmericansForBernie
Keith Culton They have microphones.
@Margo I think those microphones captured more than you can comprehend.
Keith Culton What’s the point of insults? Impossible to have a civil, rational conversation with trump or bernie supporters unless you’re in total agreement with them.
@Margo With that being said …can Pete or any of the other candidates? No, but the people can with their votes (if the system isn’t rigged).
Yes. Yes. *YES.* With her and Bernie Sanders *every step of the way.* Bernie For President. The elites are afraid. Bring it on.
@Mister G what has mayor Pete passed?or trump before he ran?tulsi?kloveture?steyer?blah blah if you run another corporate hack thats not gonna do nothing but toast billionaires don’t complain when voters don’t get up and go to the polls cause the hacks ez for trump to smack around
@Mister G go ahead run another hillary clown and watch what happens what is a moderate dem gonna do for the working class?all they ever say is what we can’t and wont do before they even get in office
Bernie 2020💙💙
John Smith At this point anyone with any class or decency is better than the orange disaster
@Dlisha Lee bernie 2020
AMEN! Amen, Nina Turner!
Yes Nina, yes Bernie, yes 99% !
How long do you think that should take Stephanie? Year after year of the same old thing and nothing done.
Are you not listening that’s what we’re fighting to change
Do try to keep up
LOL, media always promoting the tranquilizing drug of gradualism.
If we’re all out on the streets protesting, who’s gonna watch TV?
@Laura Lafauve tRump
@Laura Lafauve 😂😂😂
Yes Hillary was quite the good choice huh!
“In order to get to a revolution, you’ve got to take [small] steps.” That’s literally the opposite of a revolution
in order to get to a revolution you’ve got to break a lot of chains and knock down a lot of walls..
The Great Drake yeah I was like which revolution was that?!?
The regressive steps leading to this overdue revolution began with the assassination of JFK, were locked in on 9/11, followed by the Patriot Act, and the war in Iraq, continued by unconscionable lack of care and support for our returning wounded veterans, then No Child Left Educated, and absolute zero wage increases for American workers, losses of industries thanks to globalism in a time of record U.S. productivity. Those, my dear, are the small steps just to name a few.
@Patreon Sage Good stuff, but A People divided will never be able to begin a real revolution. The masses will never see beyond race or status, thus continue to be pawns by the elites of this World.
WOW!!! Nina Simone’s convictions and Tina Turner’s energy. The Bern is gonna getcha. BOOM!!!!
I’m so sick of these status quo MF. Bernie is the only choice!
Hilarious. He is a 3rd party!! Assuring a Trump presidency
Shocked MSNBC let her speak and posted it. Go Nina!!
MSNBC speaker cant speak to what Nina is saying because Nina represents a colored community and it would therefore be racist if she tried 😂 I hate ideology like that but it’s working to Bernies campaigns benefit in this regard.
@pessimistic college student There are two types of White America. One won the civil war; the other lost it. One accepts Blacks and other minorities as equal; the other doesn’t. One believes in the American flag; the other believes in the Confederate flag. One is against White supremacy; the other is for it. One is honest; the other cheats. One is truthful; the other lies. One rejects lies; the other accepts lies. One lives to love; the other lives to hate. One follows Christ’s teachings; the other pretends to. One believes in the Constitution; the other believes in Trump. The question is, which White American are you?
Nina Turner is such an eloquent speaker and would be an ***amazing*** Vice President!
Bernie & Nina 2020
Yes!!!!!
I second that motion!
The American people need to be allowed to vote for who they want to!
Shame on the media!
Yes we know who they are speaking for…..their big CEO
Title of this video should be “Nina Turner doesn’t take any of MSNBC’s crap”
