Just goes to show you that everything you post on the internet is there forever. They were able to bring up posts this guy made 12 years ago.
It’s by far the only good thing about internet that they are able to retrieve these things. Normal decent people are not worry about old posts but sicko’s should be!
Yep. Be very careful what you post. I don’t really have much concern because I never had a Twitter account. And I don’t say incriminating things about myself. Not that I have committed any crimes, but these days? Just thinking can be called a criminal act. Ugh.
Duh.
He wrote that as a teenager. Something written over 12 years ago should not even count. Focus on the current moment instead of a time when it is normal for a teenager to feel disconnected from the world or lonely. New York Times reporter is going to have people look into his life soon. 🤣
@Y O U & M E DISCUSSIONS Ever heard of Yuval Noah Harari? He wants us all 100% surveilled 100% of the time to include blood pressure, temperature, etc.
Just wanna say.. My heart goes to the entire community for Amazons AMA2023P building up something which is worth it for everyone. This is so smart by them to launch it to shatter the doubts and fears of the common folk which shouldn’t even exist to begin with. Everyone knows the state of inflation and recession now and the way out is already in progress. Now it’s just about catching the big fish
Reported. There’s something especially sick about posting crypto scam spam posts under a story about multiple murders. Shame on the trash behind these spam posts.
Watch out! Bots on the loose!!!
What in the world are you talking about this has nothing to do with anything
@C Powers no doubt about it
Thanks, bots! Way to provide some input on the murder of these kids 🖕
I don’t know why this is “chilling.” I think it’s becoming more common every single day. Psychopath is our future. This is what our system creates, people with a lack of emotion; a lack of empathy. And the ones that claim they have these things are usually the ones with the least amount of it.
@M S he didn’t use a gun. Guns have nothing to do with this crime.
Guns may have stopped this crime.
Guns can defend against a knife.
@Just A T-Rex currently the estimate is 2000.
That is not less.
PTSD – Post traumatic stress disorder – I got this partial list from Mayo Clinic web site -Feeling detached from family and friends
Difficulty experiencing positive emotions
Feeling emotionally numb
Repent and believe in Jesus. John 3:16 KJV – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Luke 13:3 KJV – I tell you nay: but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
and the use of drugs (both illegal and prescription medications are bad) is also a big factor for these mental disorders. It seems that doctors love to prescribe drugs, that’s why I have stayed away from doctors and the “healthcare” system.
So it’s called depersonalization syndrome! I had that quite often in my childhood, but it was all gone by the time I reached 15. Glad I’m back to normal.
Most teens who keep journals go through times when they are analyzing themselves, and how they see their families and themselves. It doesn’t mean this will define them as they grow out of adolescence. They are trying to understand their changing bodies, and selves, and how they fit in the new world around them as they enter adulthood. I think they are doing this alleged killer a disservice by saying what he wrote as a teen still defines who he is at 28. He is innocent until proven guilty.
Yeah I used to experience this too… For most of my life… But I just now realised that I don’t anymore, but only sometime in the last 7 ish yrs I think .. so at least until I was 30 ish .. Thinking about it now, I guess it makes sense that I’ve sort of stopped experiencing that depersonaliZation and derealization coz Ive done a whole lot of emotional and mental healing in these years and have made so much progress, so I guess that depersonaliZation etc experience has faded away due to the work I’ve done within… ,🤔🤔
Its the weirdest feeling, I remember always feeling like being outside was actually somehow inside, like inside a bubble, and the sky was the bubble I was in.. and sometimes these weird out of body sensations like I was someone else… So weird
Did you killed 4 people though?
Hoo now! Hoo! Now that would be telling!”
– Treebeard
“normal”
I don’t care how he’s being dissected to try and figure out his motive and why something in his personality triggered this. He studied how others killed and their feelings they got from killing people and then he did it period.
@Lionheart Merrill it probably was.
He’s got that Ted Bundy look and feel about him….a dangerous sociopath.
He studied criminology which includes case studies of violent offenders and how they commit their crimes. This of course includes serial rapists and serial killers. I believe he did so in order to understand his own thoughts and propensities. He excelled in this field for one purpose, to utilize his knowledge to use against others in various ways. As I’ve said from the beginning..The killer shared the same mindset of a serial killer even though other crimes have not been attributed to him, as yet. It wouldn’t matter if he’s never killed before. All that would accomplish is place him neatly in the SK category. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t the same type of individual and or that he wouldn’t kill again. It’s apparent as it’s been from the beginning, that if he went unidentified the probability in his reoffending would be extremely high, if not imminent. Edited to add…That I am absolutely amazed at just how many people refused to accept my assessment of the killer being a serial killer for so long. But now are looking at the situation differently and willing to accept this.
The Butterfly effect,
In fact the kind of research he was doing was exactly what led to the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI (think the show “Criminal Minds”) which led to considerable progress in identifying and apprehending serial killers.
One of the things they discovered is that even a sociopathic personality needed a stressor of some kind to get started – such as apparently Bryan getting jilted by one of the females here. They also learned that once such a person gets started they rapidly progress in skill, so its lucky that we got Bryan now during his initial incompetent phase.
@WW2 remembered yeah Ted Bundy & coincidentally Bundy at the sorority house beat up 4 women, 2 died. BK, if he did it, murdered 4 at the party house. My father was a top gunner on a B-24 bomber in WW2.
‘Visual snow’ could easily be just a type of ocular migraines which is quite common especially in people with stress.
I used to have ocular migraines when I was on the birth control pill it’s a common side effect. the difference, I’m gathering, between ocular migraines that cause visual aura and visual snow syndrome is that it seems as if they’re saying that visual snow is constant where as a migraine will come and go and those visual impairments come and go. when I had those issues it really was debilitating so I’m very sympathetic with anyone who claims to have visual snow that must be awful. I think they’re digging into some very obscure semantics in his case though, to the point to where some very ignorant people are going to hear that this alleged killer has had these issues and they will automatically associate these syndromes and mental health issues with being a “psychopathic” killer. so that to me is very unfortunate.
Parents teach your children to be kind to others
We are all different. All schools must have zero bullying policy. Nip it at the bud. We are all responsible for the health of our children not the teachers. Mental health begins at home.
Also in Temporal lobe epilepsy.
I agree 💯
just want to add a little something for anyone who doesn’t experience depersonalization; derealization:
also want to clarify that i am NOT excusing this guy at all, if it comes across like that please don’t get it twisted.
DP;DR makes you feel like you are living in a dream, or a video game. I’ve experienced this for many years now constantly. I always feel like I’m on autopilot, and for a while I was having intense existential thoughts. I convinced myself I was an NPC in a video game, or living in a movie, or even that I was in a coma due to a bad accident/ health problem and I would “wake up” eventually. It was the most terrifying feeling in the entire world.
So imagining all of that, plus visual snow? That would definitely add to the “I’m living in a video game”.
I used to be extremely empathetic, but DP;DR + long-term depression has taken that from me. I no longer feel connected to others, or myself. I try so hard to be emotional, and it takes a LOT for me to cry, but it’s getting better over the years. It’s hard though.
Just wanted to share my thoughts as I know not a lot of people experience this/ understand what it feels like. Mental health is a really tricky subject, but it’s easier to talk about nowadays. The more we understand it the better we can prevent people from doing atrocious things like this.
@Kristina Tellefson Honestly i need to get to a dr soon, I’ve been putting it off for so long as I’ve had so many bad experiences with them😅
@Tamara S. Definitely! it’s SO important to talk about, and I’m so glad people are more comfortable sharing their experiences now. Just having people tell me over the years that I’m not the only one who has this disorder has helped so much it’s unbelievable. Knowing that I’m not alone, and I’m not crazy lol.
He was on antidepressants as a teen and they are known to cause these effects.

Wish this guy would have been given alot more time to discuss this.
She kept interrupting him (as beautiful as she is 😍)
I do as well
I had that depersonalization for a month or so with a bad bout of vestibular migraine. Thankfully that cleared up first. It was like watching a movie. I also has severe vertigo and nausea with it
Hi Frank
The film “We Need To Talk About Kevin” comes to mind listening to this reporting. Some human beings become completely disassociate at some point in their lives.
What are you talking about? You watched this video, were told what to think and you believe it.
@Mr Smith what do you think and believe in?
Too bad that last guest wasn’t allowed to continue. He had some interesting information. How can a person go through life so successfully seemingly so detached from reality?
That just goes to show that being highly educated is not really success. Just because you are able to pass a bunch of classes and specialize in certain fields doesn’t mean you’re successful in all aspects of life. He was/is a lost and confused individual outside of classroom work.
Academia has always provided a home for such people. The other place of course is Wall Street.
@Peztopher I agree. I think he found a purpose, though I wonder if choosing which side of the law he wanted to be on was ever concrete for him, until he acted out of rage maybe. I can imagine his lack of empathy made it easier for him to see either outcome as viable options. The criminologist who understands the minds of monsters, or the monster who understands criminology.
@PeztopherI’m the same way, extremely socially awkward and autistic – but I wouldn’t murder anyone.
@AmiraTheGreat 🤔 Interesting
I think that often people that are drawn to study psychology are first trying to understand themselves.
You are right.
Hi Martin
@Cathydickerson123 ???
@Martin Reiter how are you doing?
Listening to Professor Fallon talk about depersonalisation syndrome / dissociative disorders was fascinating. It’s a shame he had so little time: I could listen to him for hours.
@joandollie Doyle Maybe Professor Fallon has a video somewhere on YT.
The interviewer is extremely rude
I’m sure Byran could too…
The interviewer is a malignant narcissist
I’m sure there’s a book. They all write books 📚
The NYT is about two weeks behind the Internet as a whole on this. These posts were sussed out almost as soon as Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania and sent back to Idaho.
That’s one of the reasons You don’t trust what media says and you take it with grain of salt.
unlike you, some of has jobs and lives where we dont spend 24/7 listening and or reading the news…reports like this help us catch up on a day off ! ..so in other words…go whine somewhere else …
I saw them weeks ago.
@:25, I paused to read more of it, and it sounds like he was going through a very deep and dark depression. What he described was what I went through. The difference is I had people in my life who noticed the change and helped me see it’s okay to admit when you are anxious or depressed. I went to therapy and got some help. I’m doing WAY better now. I never thought about doing anyone else harm, though. It didn’t say he did in that first big post, but it’s just surreal that I had similar thoughts and feelings when I was depressed. Nothing mattered. I was worthless. Everything seemed meaningless. I’m so glad to be out of that darkness.
I think it’s important that the people reporting on these topics regarding his past mental health struggles clarify to all of the ignorant people, who will inevitably see this, that these mental health issues and syndromes don’t make you a killer and they don’t make you a psychopath. these problems he dealt with are interesting yes, but in and of itself depression does not make you a killer, depersonalization does not make you a killer. there’s always going to be more to this story.
@Chaaazz2008 I experienced this same thing as a child as well in very traumatic situations.
I read the whole thing too. I would rather read more than hear about it second hand.
I’ve been there. I could have written some of what he did to a T. It’s depression. That’s what alot of people go through. They don’t go out and murder people because of it though. And depression has never made me want to hurt others.
Thanks, didn’t think about the option of pausing to read until reading this post. God, how heartbreaking. I’ve experienced plenty of depression in my life but I think what he describes goes well beyond depression – his inability to connect to reality or feel empathy or anything at all, and how much it tortures him. Scary as eff. He needed help desperately. It’s sad that he didn’t get it, and now it’s come to this tragedy where innocent people are dead and so many others in so much pain. A true tragedy in every sense.
She has an expert who’s giving very interesting information that she keeps cutting off
Yeah, she was very impatient with him! As though she wanted 1 or 2 sentence answers to every question she asked, but no more than that.
This story breaks our hearts. The four innocent lives lost. And this young man who is empty inside. I just can’t imagine all of the pain, all of the terror and all of the agony everyone associated lives with. I couldn’t survive if any one of these individuals were my kid. Prayers for everyone. 🙏
@Shazza Sees I, definitely, am NOT saying he’s not guilty. And certainly not trying to let him off the hook. I think the best persons to do that would be the parents of the victims and the judge. But I am commenting on the video’s subject about the accused not having any feelings about his parents.
@Doug Corcoran I have family in military!! Has anyone in your family deployed to war zones?
@kathleen ardrey yes, anyone diagnosing someone with a sickness after watching a few YouTube videos is rude crude and ignorant!
@Doug Corcoran Yes you’re rude, crude and ignorant about presuming!!
This is one of the life events our minds are not equipped to understand. It is a tragedy for all involved.
I’m so interested to know how much his parents noticed about his mental health, ( since this information shows he had issues when they were still responsible for him), and what, if anything, they did about it.
Tracey sometimes the teenagers and young adults reject help, deny problems, for instance my son refused to see a psychologist when he was a teenager, I spoke kindly, I begged, I pleaded, I demanded, I removed privileges, I had his school try, his dad try, he just refused. My brother was the same and took his own life. My parents kept assisting him but he wouldn’t acknowledge he was on a path of self destruction. After he died my father said it’s better this way because he was going to hurt someone real bad….. I have never gotten over that comment. A million shades of gray in this area definitely not black and white.
@Melissa Walker Yes, it has to be so frustrating and scary when the loved one won’t accept your help. And this guy did admit in his posts that he treated his Dad poorly, so he probably didn’t welcome his parents’ input either.
Even when you don’t feel empathy for people and animals, you can LEARN it! The family and school has to teach you that.
Too bad the interview with the second doctor was cut short. It’s fascinating to learn about the human mind. I’ve known a few people in my life that have no empathy for others, and especially for animals. It’s so not normal, most of us have empathy for both.
THIS!!
@TK Englander Time for a commercial…
Hi Diane
ya i could watcch 200 coeds get sliced to bits and feel nothing…even mabye excitment and glee….but if u hurt a dog or cat ill get real pissed
