The video shows a Washington State University campus police officer pull Kohberger over Oct. 14 in Pullman, Washington, on suspicion of running a red light, according to the Idaho Statesman, which obtained the video.
The university, which Kohberger attended, is about 8 miles west from where the killings took place.
The traffic stop is cited in an 18-page police probable-cause affidavit for Kohberger's arrest in December. Authorities' knowledge of Kohberger's vehicle later played a role in identifying him as the suspect in the deaths of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.
