  1. Remember when the entire Fox News apparatus moved to the 38th parallel in anticipation of Trump securing a peace deal? Then Trump saluted their top general, showed them a PowerPoint presentation about the possibility of beach front hotels and returned empty handed, saying him and Kim were “in love”

    Yep. That actually happened.

  2. I don’t like the test of any nuclear weapon because how do they know the affect on the earth itself and the tectonic plates.

    1. The tectonic plates aren’t going to be affected. That particular mountain is an active volcano, so there is an outside chance things go south in a hurry, but the lava flow paths go into China so Kim doesn’t have to worry.

  3. Could someone, anywhere please remove these madmen Dictators from earth before they scorch it for everyone.

    1. We’re not the strongest? I’m curious as to who would be stronger. Russia? They are proving themselves more incompetent with each passing day in Ukraine. China? They cannot project their power beyond Asia- and would likely meet their own Ukraine slog if they took on Taiwan even without our help. Who else did you have in mind as being stronger? Luxembourg?

  4. North Korea is an extremely predictable state.
    1. Be the center of attention
    2. If not the center of attention, make north Korea the center
    3. Leverage attention for unmarked aid.
    4. Never admit foreign aid is responsible for the existence of any lives in north Korea
    5. State that outside actors are responsible for all the problems the country is plagued with
    6. Repeat for continued results

    1. And always rely on your friends at CNN,and most all other outlets, to advertise it all.
Helps when you have commenters backing it all up.

  5. Kim must be feeling neglected with all the attention on rival super villain Vlad the invader.

  6. Is there an “Elder Stateswoman” of journalism? Perhaps there never used to be. But Barbara Starr is such a person. Her experienced competence is refreshing and other such talent must be preserved in future also.

    1. Lol funny Gen Z childish talk. We want people with experience not 24 year old barbie dolls with not much life experience

    1. @Alisa Johns feed them then stop talking about it liar. Probably on food stamps too saying that. You ain’t going hungry feed the starving ppl you
      So concerned with.

    1. OSHA and the fire marshal need to pay these guys a visit and tell them about the dangers of daisy-chaining power strips and not having floor covers for your cubicle’s cable nest
I bet their PC’s are sitting on the carpet under their desks, too…

  7. Atomic weapons have been the most horrendous Pandora’s box in human history. They should never have been conceived.

    1. Bill Clinton “spent $5 BILLION and got nothing. Then North Korea started making nuclear weapons a day later.🤣

    2. @quantumleaper a million or two then with NO radiation or nuclear winter, or hundreds of millions instantly NOW, and billions to straggle in horrific conditions to death a while later? PICK!

    3. @Micah7789 No, I don’t have to pick I am talking about WW2 and why it ENDED. It was either a million or more men dieing during the invasion of Japan or drop the bomb on 2 cities. The US ONLY built 3 bombs to end the war. 2 were dropped on Japanese cities and 1 exploded in the desert. It seems you would have rather had a few million men die instead of dropping the bomb. We would still have a bomb today, since the US created one at the end of the war. BTW Japan and Germany were working on the same thing, they just did have the Jewish German Sciencists on there side.

  8. Is this test same test site used in 2018 when the test blast caused the mountain to collapse?

  9. Istfg I have had enough the last few years, it’s one existential crisis after another, can we PLEASE STOP the ones we’re causing

    1. @David Moore yes and? They’re not just TESTING it to pass the time while waiting for the tea to boil are they, David.

  10. North korea is missing the attention because of the Ukraine war… It’s feeling left out.. Lmaooo

    1. lmaooo yeah it’s pretty hilarious, isn’t it? Glad that you are so easily amused by the horrors of our world.

  11. the things i am curious about are more in relation to how the testing tunnel/chamber is constructed… i mean do they basically hollow out a mountain and blow it up, or do they just dig a tunnel and blow it up? i mean are they blown up in a room/chamber or are they used to create the room/chamber? the heat and pressure from the shock wave and thermal event, would turn sand into glass and potentially melt rock…. so in a way if this was set off in a chamber and the tunnel used to vent the space… couldn’t detonating a nuke underground actively reinforce a chamber to be stronger? despite the radioactive stuff… i mean put a layer of led down before you build and you could basically turn it into an underground bunker…. anyhow those are the thoughts that came to mind… anyone have answers?

    1. Eugene,
I have no idea if how they test it, but this is interesting.
The explosion would be concentrated indeed, but the variously material composition of the rock’s layers might create an unpredictable result of the bunker physical dimension.
Or it could weakening the rock’s layer structure eventhough the glass formation had strengthen its outer surface.
I think, smaller detonators would be better to create a bunker.

    2. The mountain is hollowed out during the explosion! The Russians and United States tried using Nukes for large scale excavation but the radiation problem could not be overcome.

  12. The last time they tried that, they collapsed a mountain. I think people in North Korea are in more danger from that than anyone else.

    1. @Stephen M they have been doing this for decades since the korean war. it’s nothing new whatsoever

  13. Those lucky North Koreans who have the job of digging those tunnels. I’m sure that they’ve been warned about the dangers of radioactivity.

  14. North Korea is an absolute joke. I have no idea why so much of our efforts are focused on them. It would take 100 years for DPRK to catch up to the US’s current military power. Even IF, every nuke they had was loaded onto a long range missile (which they don’t have enough of) and all launched at the US, and they all made it (which they wouldnt) and none were duds (which they wouldn’t be), they still wouldn’t do very significant damage. And theyd basically be instantly wiped off the map after they did it. Even DPRK’s crazy leaders must know this. As much as they feed their people a bunch of crap about how “powerful” they are, I’d be willing to bet most, if not all of the higher ups in the Gov’t know where they stand.
While they have a large standing army. They lack mobility or a way of deploying troops rapidly anywhere beyond their borders (which is only increased by their extreme isolation). They don’t have much in the way of airpower, what they do is mostly very old chinese and russia fighters from the 40s and 50s. They have a little bit of a navy, probably enough that they could maybe hold their own against South Korea if it was just navy vs navy and absolutely nothing else. They lack ammunition and training because of that. Most of their career soldiers have fired less than 50 bullets.
Then to top all that off, their biggest problem of all, they lack fuel. So even if they had the planes and tanks and subs and people movers, they don’t have enough fuel to move them.
North Korea is a waste of our time and effort in the West. What we need to do is park some cruisers off the coast in international waters, their only job is to shoot down missiles fired into international waters. And just forget about them.

  15. “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”
No one will survive an all-out nuclear exchange….No one.

    1. You need to tell people that Oppenheimer said that in case they did not see The Day After Trinity. That is such a wonderful documentary.

  16. “Don’t try anything when I’m president and I’ll turn a blind eye to your initiatives.”
    – Donald J. Trump to Kim Jong-Un right before he declared his undying love for yet another deluded iron fisted tyrant.

    1. Wow your uncle daddy would sure be proud you got that babble out there😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 where do you products of the family tree make up this downs babble?
