@Andy Welsh – Thankfully my area had very little to no cases. If you notice which states in the USA caught so much hell over the summer , all the red states that all followed that assholes advice and opened way too soon and much too aggressively , same as drinking the purple Kool Aid . All the blue states in the north east had one peak , then it flattened and declined , and now are the safest places to be in the USA. What was the secret , all 3 goveners basically told Trump to get bent , we’ll re open when we are good and ready and feel safe in doing so.

All along everyone thought the virus was coming to the USA from China therefore all the attention was on the west coast , when all along it was actually entering the north east VIA Europe . And with New York being so densely populated & JFK being one of the busiest airports in the world , the results were devastating. But in a little over 2 months you guys had it crushed and knocked out , NYC should have set the example for the entire country on what can be accomplished with a little common sense , sticking to the guidelines and paying no attention to Bunker Donny.

All through Obama’s term, the people who later voted Trump to office dismissed the rising stock market, and the dropping unemployment rate because it didn’t count the long term unemployed who had given up finding work, and instead pointed to the work force participation rate.
So by their own reasoning, great stock market performance doesn’t mean the economy is doing great.
BTW the labor force participation rate started increasing toward the end of Obama’s term, continued increasing slowly until earlier this year when it dropped sharply.
Even during the recession in 2008-2009, which Tea Partiers at the time blamed on Obama, the labor force participation rate didn’t drop as sharply as it has this year.
The rest of world dealt with this public health problem effectively by applying science and responsible leadership. The US is alone in its failure, and the current situation with this pandemic and the economy is clearly the Trump Administration’s fault. You can tell by how poorly the US is doing relative to the rest of the world. Trump assembled a team sycophants with himself as the lowest common denominator, and attempted to lead the US into more complexity than he could ever comprehend. We are only seeing the obvious consequences of this now; the more subtle troubles will come later and longer. Alas at this point, only the truly stupid, the fact-free believers, or the truly evil Trump supporters can continue to enable this possibly worst of all presidents/humans we’ve experienced as a nation. The sociopath Trump has assembled an administration of sociopaths, and he is supported by mystical thinkers, and/or people of ill intent.
