NASA Shows U.S. Capable Of Amazing Feats Even As Texas Struggles With Basics | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC
Congratulations NASA.🎉
Thank you President Trump!
Frost: “Man, I’m telling you, I got a bad feeling about this drop.”
Crowe: “You always say that Frost. You always say, “I got a bad feeling about this drop.”
“We’re in the pipe, 5 X 5.” 😄
Game over, man! 😛
Such a great movie.
“What do you mean “They” cut the power? How could they cut the power man they’re animals!” (GQP animals) Great Saga, Aliens 2 my favorite!!!
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
I watched the last 30 minutes of the landing and was thrilled to see that it was geared to our children. Even the youngest grade school child could watch, understand, and be captivated by the wonders of science. I might have preferred a more geeky tech heavy presentation, but I recognize that the most important thing that NASA can do is recruit new scientists for our future. Kudos
Love your comment. : )
It was an amazing show, absolute professionalism amid a sea of tension. Then, after Perseverance touched down, it was Super Bowl Sunday! The Q&A after the landing, with the pre-recorded kid’s questions, was GOLD.
The clever part of America…
The only true intellectual elite in this country. Without science they would still be here speculating about the roundness of the earth..wait
wasn’t there a bunch of statistics that said mortality of pregnant women was higher than most third world countries? wasn’t too long ago
It was a multinational effort like all NASA missions are.
I’ll say it more specifically: We can land 3 robots on Mars in a row without failure – but we cant overcome the idiocy that keeps on electing GQP crooks who break the country over and over and over again.
@wallieshere Obama stop me importing electric toys because of to much lead what does democrats want now
@wallieshere I would probably get a democrat judge and lose.
@Tommy r Westbrook so what was the actual bill he passed that affected you?
@DeckerdSmeckerd Do you mean, cast gypsy spells upon them and their descendants? Hmm. OK, I’ll sacrifice a couple of Trump cultists along with the midnight incantations and we’ll see if there’s any improvement.
@William Swenson Another nut job
We can go to Mar but Texas, energy state, can’t provide heat, water and other basic support for life on earth. Houston, Texas has a problem.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Texas this is Huston… “We can’t fix Stupid”
Freaking funny
Houston, Texas has a problem.
Texas this is Huston… “We can’t fix Stupid”
Just one?
👌🏻 An oh-so perfect comment!! 👍🏻
😂
Americans last. 🤷♂️ that’s what you voted for. Enjoy
Kind of puts the lie to the conservative argument that government can’t do anything right.
Is that why ca is always on fire
Landing that rover is only half the trick.
The plan to get samples back to earth is to send another rover to pick it up with a return vessel.
Now that, is a burn.
There is not enough sunblock on earth to protect from that burn!
like traveling through hot lava!
Well done NASA. The mission is incredibly important. Can’t wait for the data!
One small step for man… at least some of us are making progress because we should be light years ahead of where we are today
The Perseverance rover was successful because the government paid for and government supervised every step, whereas the Texas power grid and utilities are a private, unregulated, unsupervised, for profit business. Don’t tell me that we need smaller government any more, when the government gets the job done and the for profit utility business fails to get the job done when it snows a little bit.
They’ll discover that life existed on Mars but the Martians used all their efforts to look for life elsewhere and let their planet die. Moral of the story, fix Earth first.
I forget who it was, but a comedian joked about how he was convinced humans were aliens to Earth because of how hard we try to artificially create environments that are comfortable to us. Your comment made me laugh at the ironic hypothetical of scientists discovering that early humans originated from Mars and were the ones that left it in that state.
I remember the moon landings; if we are lucky and not the dark-agers take over, future generations will walk on Mars. Wish I had another 50 years in me but I will always remember sitting in front of the B&W TV, watching Neil Armstrong taking that one small step.
I wonder if they’ll find the Prothean Archives.
Here come the anti science conspiracy theories. 10% of US are brilliant.
_”U.S. Capable Of Amazing Feats”_
You had doubts?
I suggest not doing that, we have a whole lot of “I Told You So” left over for doubters.
We can do stuff like this because it’s done by scientists and engineers, not by dummy politicians.
“Houston – we have a problem “.
