And people thought Pelosi was a bad choice to be speaker at the time. She showed not only could she manage to hold against Trump, but she could still keep her caucus together. She was a solid pick and proved her chops again.

Exactly. Her job it to keep the caucus together and get everyone to vote for what the caucus as a whole wants to pass – and she’s a master, a one of a kind, in that. She’s an asset, and I’m afraid that once she leaves, the Democrats will suffer a substantial political blow, because I don’t know if there’s anyone else (at the moment) who can do the job of getting the votes so perfectly as she does.
