Explosions rocked Kyiv on Monday as dozens of armed drones unleashed by Russian forces set buildings ablaze, killed at least four people and sent residents scrambling for cover.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said most of the 28 drones targeting Kyiv were shot down, but that explosions were heard across the city, including residential buildings that had rescuers dismantling the debris in search of survivors and victims. Four deaths were reported at one residential building alone, Klitschko said.
Klitschko said the drones were Iranian-made Shaheds, which Russia has rebranded as Geran-2 drones. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Monday denied that Iran provided drones to Russia.
The attack came a week after Russia’s massive barrage of missile strikes in Kyiv and other major cities across Ukraine killed at least 20 people. That assault was the first to reach Kyiv in four months. “Enemies can attack our cities, but they won't break us,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address.

Cheap & effective weapon system. There is enough technology in a cell phone to fly a drone, cheap engine, plus explosive; you get a smart flying torpedo. I am expecting coordinated drone swarm attacks in the future. Imagine the environmental and energy impacts if they attack oil platforms.
Keep telling the world how weak Russia is and they’re going to keep showing the world how weak they’re not.

the reason the drone hit the residential building is because someone on the ground was shooting at it with an AK, hit one of the wings, and shifted the trajectory, and thats why it hit that building… that wasn’t the intended target. intended target was the Powerstation that was 2 buildings next to it
