I just also think, in addition to keeping us safe, it is responsible for preventing those in power from preventing everyone else that works hard and plays by the rules, from being successful at a minimum level. And that’s not what we have anymore. Anyone wealthy enough can grease the pockets of greasy politicians to ensure that their wealth is unfairly protected. I believe in grit and determination like you. Why are the wealtlhy and their posterity shielded from that?

@Nemesis1ism You need to look into where Trump actually is making money, much of it is from his hotels and much of that is from foreign government officials. Then you need to check the constitutionality of him accepting money from his hotels even without the foreign payments.
Do you know that Trump is planning on hosting next year’s G-7 summit at Trump International Doral in Miami? He is not planning on having the summit there at no cost to the government. Again that’s an unconstitutional income for Trump.

@Brian Nave When was the last time that a “scam” or hoax killed more than 200,000 US citizens in about 7 months? The total US citizen death toll of all US military actions (including the cold wars which were not shooting wars) since 1898, that’s 122 years ago, is 630,165. Do you really want to call something that has killed around 1/3 of the total number of war related deaths for about 122 years and done it in less than a year a “scam”? Are you really that divorced from reality?
I looked at the site your link pointed to and I notice that they are taking data from little more than a one month duration at most. So they are looking at mainly youths in their 20s without high risks for death due to the pandemic and this data doesn’t cover a long enough period for severe cases to run their course and therefore deaths could still occur in your sample data. Additionally your sample is on the small side compared to the sample of all the recorded instances and doesn’t cover the full spectrum of age groups. IOW, you are presenting faulty data and should retract your whole statement.

Just a few weeks ago Toilet Paper was the most valuable commodity on the planet. This pandemic has demonstrated to the rich that the low paid “essential” workers can survive without them and they are scared. That is why they are doing everything they can to hang onto power and keep the lower classes in line so they can stay at the top. Vote the repluglicans out in November.
