@Mark Shelor you are familiar with the term “executive privilege.” every president has used it to resist congressional oversight. it’s a well established principle in law. the court decides the question on a case by case basis. don’t you remember schiff though. his contention was that they didn’t have the time to wait for the courts to ejudiciate the issue because trump would keep breaking the law in the interim. on a side note, that position is kind of hard to square with the fact that pelosi is now toying with the idea of not sending the articles over to the senate for trial. i’m sure that glaring irony will be lost on you democrats. but believe me, it’s a thing.

The lie I’m referring to is the quote I provided from this video. McConnell wants you to believe that the house rushed the articles of impeachment by skipping witnesses. In reality, they called the exact witnesses he’s talking about, but Trump himself ordered them not to comply with their subpoenas, which is illegal and clearly an abuse of power in and of itself. That’s why they made a second article for obstruction of congress.
But McConnell will never bring that up, because he has this false narrative that looks better for him. It’s really his only move, too. He personally prevents the house from making laws, then turns around and says they’ve done nothing. There are 400+ bills on his desk, but no, his “do-nothing Democrats” story is too valuable to him. He has a story he wants to tell, he abuses his position of power to ensure that he can tell it, and he hopes you are all too stupid to see that he’s pulling the strings. Stop proving him right.
