New York has only itself to blame for its situation. From friends in the Bronx and Brooklyn, they estimated that 75% of people there arrogantly didn’t take it seriously until early April.

Alfred Basurto California is doing pretty well. I seem to recall that they are even more democrat than NY. Their governor is respectful to the president while asking for help, and was doing stuff to protect his state before anyone else. Also if you want to look at the DOE statistics on students you will see that it is very possible that deBlasio had some impact on the racial disparity.
