The Washington Post obtained more than 2,000 pages of government documents that show that — despite American leaders consistently saying the U.S. was making progress in Afghanistan — that the U.S. has failed to build a counter-force to the Taliban and that stable areas of Afghanistan won’t outlast the on-the-ground presence of American troops. Matthews: Why Haven’t Our Leaders Been Honest About Afghanistan? | Hardball | MSNBC
Poppy field D.C.
Afghanistan has cost us over $1,000,000,000,000.00 & countless American & Allies lives & yet the Taliban man is as strong as ever!
Because that’s where America gets its heroin and they’re protecting the poppy fields.
exactly
WOW only a decade late in asking that question !
@AFXM.COM I totally agree, was commenting a little tongue in cheek.
It makes money for those supplying the weapons. You can’t justify a defence budget of 860 billion without wars to fight.
We stayed because WAR MAKES MONEY!
Lockheade Martin, Northrop Grumman, Gen Atomics, Gen Dynamics, Raytheon, Bae Systems, JtL, Norinco, 3L, Textron, Taurus, Honywell, Boeing, Bersa, Beretta, Nanchang, AVIC, even Mitsubishi!
Greed, bribery, corruptions & making money with special & personal interests!
Because our system is corrupt and the mainstream media shills for all the corpratists. Bernie 2020 all day everyday!!!
The primary purpose of modern warfare is to provide business opportunities to defense contractors who in turn give funds to political campaigns and who also provide subcontracting jobs to the friends and family and business partners of the politicians who approved the war. Victory is a secondary concern.
I totally agree with your astute perspective. Moreover, I would question if Victory is ever a true concern or objective. Most of these so-called wars have open ended resolutions. They are designed to last indefinitely. Similar to a chronic disease without a cure. They will continue to sell you hope in the form of drugs until you go bankrupt or die.
Afghanistan is a good place to harvest opium that is used to destroy the infrastructure of the government of any country the US disagrees with. That’s why.
There is No honesty when the Role of War Controlled by profiteers and the Arms Industries complex ….
It’s long past time to leave Afghanistan
Economy boosting war just like Vietnam. Used to work for General Dynamics, as independent contractor and know this to be true. They have just received yet another military contract
The War Industry has a sweet deal going on there…
Leave now and I guarantee you’ll be back there again within the next 10 years. Afghanistan is a dead man’s switch. You take the pressure off before defusing it first and it’s going to blow ya’ll up…
This war has made certain people very, very wealthy.
They don’t care who dies as long as the cash is pouring in.
Mostly Evangelicals.
We didn’t have a choice. Al Qaeda murdered us on our own soil. They needed to be exterminated.
I don’t fault any president for trying to put it in a positive light… including the traitor currently squatting in the White House.
ROFL, THIS DROOLING VEGETABLE IS NEXT-LEVEL
*ANYONE REMEMBER 9/11? ANYONE??*
MONEY HAS KEPT THIS WAR GOING…MONEY
Afghanistan = Graveyard of Empires
