In terms of light, color is dictated by the wavelengths that are reflected, which leads to white being the presence (reflection) of all colors and black is the absence (absorption) of color. Hence why prisms split white light into rainbows and why darker colored surfaces get warmer in direct sunlight (since they are absorbing the visible and infrared light).
In terms of pigments, all non-albinos are technically different shades of brown, but different shades get different treatment, depending on where you are.

The host in the video got this fact backwards about the colors black and white. It’s really early on in the video. It has a lot to do with the video, because msnbc can’t seem to get the facts straight in any of their videos and along with the dems they see racial implications in everything.
