March 4, 2003: Fidel Castro answers questions from media in Vancouver

"Vancouver is a good city."
On March 4, 2003, then-Cuban president Fidel Castro answered questions from Canadian media about his thoughts on Vancouver’s bid to host the 2010 Olympic Games, tensions between the U.S. and Iraq and the U.S. embargo in Cuba.

Castro spoke through an interpreter during his brief stopover in Vancouver, following an 11-day Asian tour.

  1. In this interview, Fidel is starting to show his age, as we all will..But, in his day, he was a force to be reckoned with !
    Not many men stood up to The USA as he did !

  2. He looked shocked that the press were there.
    He was trying to sneak into town to see his old flame Margaret and possibly his son Justin.
    Look at the eyebrows folks and tell me he is not Justins’ father.

    1. Ha! Fidel Castro never ran from the press, in this video he is clearly very tired and was hoping to get some sleep. He said that on the first question.
      If he wanted to sneak out he could just keep walking like most politicians do.
